Hi I'm Tanner Hickman

I grew up in Northern California. I am a student looking to become a therapist someday, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student at BYU where I am studying Psychology. I plan on getting my masters in social work and becoming a therapist; either a family therapist or helping those who suffer from depression. I am married to my beautiful wife Holly. Things I love to do are play basketball, I love the game and love to play it whenever I can. I also enjoy watching movies and reading books.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe Heavenly Father has answered my prayers to specific questions such as what to do and which path to follow as I have had feelings of peace and comfort. Through prayer I have come to believe and know for me that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ's church here on the earth today. I have come to know that as I have read The Book of Mormon and learned about the Restoration. In the end I think of myself more as a follower of Jesus Christ rather than a Mormon. I know that he is my Savior, and that it is only through Him that I can become clean of my mistakes and return to live with God. He is at the center of what I believe as I strive to become more like him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith day to day. For me it is about becoming, not simply doing things or going through the motions, but really becoming more like Jesus Christ and bettering myself each day. Living my faith is a process of learning. I have the opportunity of working with young single adults where really I get to be a support to them and see their examples. I also get to work with many organizations of the church and see how they are doing and goals they each have, and do whatever I can to help them reach those goals and help them build up the unit in unity and love.
