Hi I'm Katie

I Married another military brat, who I met in Japan, in the Dallas Texas Temple for Eternity. We have two children.

About Me

I teach group fitness classes. I have lots of hobbies: triathlons, decorating, scrap booking, cooking and anything athletic. I am in college, work part time and I am a full time mother and wife. My husband and I did not have a perfect history but we made the best decision of our lives to get married in the temple. We are so blessed to have an eternal family, and receive constant blessings because of our obedience to the Lord's laws. My hubby and I were both military brats and came from large families. I have 5 siblings that have finished or are currently serving full time missions. My husband and two children are my greatest gifts from my Heavenly Father. Each day they remind me of His love for me. I want to be a missionary so that I can share with my brothers and sisters the peace that the gospel has brought to my life. Living the gospel is not always easy, but Knowing that there is a living prophet and that He provides modern revelation to us today makes it a lot easier! I am grateful that Joseph smith restored the church that Christ organized back to the earth again, when it had been lost. I know that Joseph Smith Saw God the father and Jesus Christ when he prayed to know what church to join. They taught him that none of the churches were true and showed him the brass plates, known to us now as the book of Mormon which is the foundation of this church.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of this church, but I did not always believe. I there was a time that I thought the rules were too strict and I wanted to have what I thought was "fun" doing the things of the world. I experienced a lot of things that I thought would bring me happiness but I never was happy. I always felt like there was something missing in my life until I met my husband. He had the same struggles that I did but we decided that we wanted nothing more than a temple marriage. He was living in utah going to college and I had just graduated highschool and was living in Japan with my family. We both were meeting often with our bishops individually to repent and make right the wrongs in our past. I flew to texas when he graduated school and we were married in the Dallas temple 4 months later. Life still has its struggles but it is complete now that I have an eternal family. I can say that I am truly the happiest I have ever been in my life. Every day I feel the Lords love for me and my family. I love attending church and feeling spiritually renewed each week. I am so grateful for the lessons that are taught in church to my children, and how it reaffirms the things that I am trying to teach them at home. I love my Savior Jesus Christ. I know that he loves me as I love my children and that he answers my prayers.

How I live my faith

I am a relief society teacher in my ward and I happily serve as a visiting teacher to the sisters that I have been assigned to. I previously served 5 years in the Primary in different callings. I also organize weekly play groups for the young mothers in the ward. I love attending Sunday school now and teaching the women in relief society!

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Katie
I went to a lot of different churches when I was a teenager with my friends. Some were more fun than the LDS church I attended my whole life. I found that I could feel the spirit in some of the other churches as well. But there is one big difference. All the other churches have been changed by men who do not have direct priesthood authority from God. I know that Joseph Smith was visited by God and that he received the Priesthood Power to lead the church just as the prophets in the bible did. The leaders of our church do not teach and serve with all of their hearts because of mortal gain. They have to fulfill their jobs an earn a living in addition to all of their labors for the church. The reason why we Mormons serve and teach is because we love our heavenly brothers and sisters and we know the joy that the gospel brings. We want to share it with the world because we know that it is true. Show more Show less
