Hi I'm Cole Vasseur

Canasian missionary who loves people, drumming, being spontaneous, and Mormonism :)

About Me

Canadian-Asian who loves God, people, and music (and everything about it!!), I love to write it, play it (on four different instruments), and sing it (no matter how bad I might be). My "being" consists of being a super-who-lock, Anime fanatic, sci-fi-fan, fantasy-freak. I am a runner/curler/into soccer kinda guy, and a hyper-active person who just loves to laugh (with other people)....all the time! :)

Why I am a Mormon

My Filipino Grandfather (on my Mom's side) came out of the WW2 with two hobbies (drinking and arguing) one day as he found himself sitting on his porch more than 46 years ago some missionaries walked by just in time to hear his voice yelling at them ready for a good verbal joust.... he was baptized a short while after that soon followed by most of his immediate family and has since continued on to be one of the most faithful and active members I've ever seen.lol XP I was brought up and raised in the church. I looked into it seriously around the age of 14-15 and have been loving it ever since. I have known it's absolute truth ever since I first asked God in faith, and received my answer through the power of the Holy Ghost. I have watched the church change my life, and the lives of my friends and family, and I have seen to literally thousands of miracles, had far too many prayers answered, and felt my Heavenly Father and Savior's love far too generously to deny this church's divine truth. I originally starting looking deeper into the church simply because of good friends that I could always and continue to count on and trust with my life. I was told of an event known as EFY (Especially For Youth) and it was there that I was first challenged (by some of the most remarkable friends and teachers I've ever known) to read the Book Of Mormon as well as pray to God to ask and know if it was in fact true, AND IT WAS!!! I testify of this to all who read this with the entire being of my soul that God lives. He loves each and every one of us and He ALWAYS answers prayers. This is His true church and this is his work. I strive everyday to do His will and further increase my faith and knowledge in and of Him so that I may continue to build a personal relationship with my Father in Heaven. One that is more close and affectionate than with any other being I have ever known and loved.

How I live my faith

I believe that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is a life style, not strictly a religion. It is something that one lives and takes into absorb into ones very soul/being. It is simply a perk that you cannot help but love this gospel once you've genuinely tried it out. I am currently attempting to complete this life long conversion process by serving a mission in the Rancho Cucamonga Mission (greatest mission in the world) located in California. I chose two full years of service out of love for my Father in Heaven and his Children (us).I have felt the blessings of our Heavenly fathers love my life so strongly and so frequently that I feel it would be selfish to keep this knowledge to myself, and so preaching and testifying of His gospel is more a blessing, rather than a sacrifice as I continue to see and expect miracles daily, watch people change for the better and grow their (our) lives into something big, beautiful, and blessed from nothing to start with other than a small amount of faith the size of a mustard seed. For that is all it really takes. :)

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Cole Vasseur
Our relationship with Joseph Smith is best portrayed in one of our hymns: We Thank Thee O God For A Prophet. And that is what Joseph Smith is to us, he is a Moses of this day and age. A mere man who is called of God to help guide the Lords Church. A person who will do what the Lord tells him in order to lead the church the way Jesus established it. We still believe in individual agency (choice) and personal revelation (praying and knowing for ourselves off of our own witness) and that Jesus is the Christ. Show more Show less
