Hi I'm Antonina

I am Bolivian, the mother of a beautiful baby daughter, a dreamer, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I married the kindest man on Earth almost two years ago. We have a beautiful baby daughter and we are both full-time students right now. I grew up in another country where the main language is Spanish. I came to the US to learn English more than 4 years ago and I have stayed here since then. I been blessed with good people around me since then. I love to cook, dance, and watch good movies. I love to play with my baby though she has learned to entertain her-self since my husband and I are always doing homework. She is so good to us. Being a parent and a student is challenging but somehow we are making it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe that the power of God is here on earth again and that he has call a prophet for our days. This knowledge did not come in one day. Everything started when I was little.. My parents, especially my father, had a very sinful life. All his decisions took him to have a miserable life full of addictions and unhappiness. it was time for him to change his life. One day our neighbor who was Mormon prayed to find somebody to shared the gospel with. She recalls that one morning on her prayer she ask to put someone on her path to invite to her church. When she left home she saw my father all drunk at our door. She was disgusted by it and tried to ignore him, but she remembered her morning prayer so she went back and invited my father to a fireside. (A meeting to learn more about the gospel) My father thought that it was going to be a party so he accepted. That was the beginning. Little by little I saw my father changing. It took him a while to be baptized but once he did he changed completely. As I grew and I saw this miracle. The change was evident and not on just him but all the my house environment changed. We were happy!. When I was 18 I finally decided to ask for myself. Was Joseph Smith a real Prophet? Was the power of the priesthood on Earth again? Do families can truly be eternal? I read the Book of Mormon for the first time by myself and I prayed. I prayed liked never before asking my Heavenly Father for an answer. I wanted Him to let me know. One day I prayed asking that If did not have an answer I was going to leave everything and go wherever He wanted me to go, but if I felt that everything was true I was going to stay on HIs church forever. after that I just felt so much joy that I can describe. It came to my mind the many times that I have felt the truthfulness of His gospel since I was young. I knew that God loved his children everywhere and that is why we had the Book of Mormon. This gospel brings me joy, peace, hope, and happiness.

How I live my faith

I feel blessed to be part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They are like a family to me. I was so excited but at the same time scared when I came to the US for the first time but once I found a chapel with people of my same faith everything became better. I have serve in my church as a teacher for the youth. Teaching about a book called Doctrine and Covenants every day at 6:00am to a group of teenagers. I was always impress for their determination to wake up every morning to learn more about the Gospel before going to school. I also taught children how to sing songs about our Savior. Now my husband and I teach every Sunday a class about the Old Testament. We are both learning more about the prophets that announced the coming of our Savior.
