Hi I'm Coleman Bishop

I want to help people. Be that person's light. Have fun while doing so. I am wild, somewhat reverent. & I am a missionary in Zion.

About Me

I grew up in Arcadia, WI. My dad passed away when I was 13. That took a toll on my family. My mom was a huge inspiration for me. I went through a phase of sorrow. The church helped my family in many ways. Ways that saved me. Ways that gave me hope & happiness. I'm a skateboarder. Artist. Writer. Photographer. Shy guy. Sometimes eccentric, sometimes calm person. I am serving in the Missouri Independence Mission. My family is in Provo, UT. I am someone. Someone who doesn't have a lot of answers. Someone going out to do what it takes, pass or fail, to get where I need to be. I am someone like you. An excerpt of one of my favorite poems: Walt Whitman Is it wonderful that I should be immortal? as every one is immortal I know it is wonderful but my eyesight is equally wonderful & how I was conceived in my mothers womb is equally wonderful & pass'd from a babe in the creeping trance of a couple of summers & winters to articulate & walk all this is equally wonderful & that my soul embraces you this hour & we affect eachother without ever seeing eachother & never perhaps to see eachother is every bit as wonderful & that I can think such thoughts as these is just as wonderful & that I can remind you & you think them & know them to be true is just as wonderful & that the moon spins round the earth & on with the earth is equally wonderful & that they balance themselves with the sun & stars is equally wonderful

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but do not think for a second that I did not have my doubts. My father passed away. I was still so young, I am still so young. I miss him. The way I know this church is true is the fact that I know I am going to be with my dad again. I prayed about the Book of Mormon. I prayed about Joseph Smith. I prayed to my Heavenly Father to find out if Jesus really did save me. I prayed hard. I pondered & pondered. I am happy. I have a real knowledge that I am going in the right direction. I know I am on a path that will lead back to my dad and I know my family will be there with me.

How I live my faith

One big example of how I live my faith is just by doing my best to try to live the commandments. I do not flaunt my actions to the whole world. I try my very best not to boast of myself, but instead boast of my true Living God. I go to church every Sunday, but I try my best not to be a "Sunday Christian". I look for opportunities to serve and help the people around me. I pray to my Heavenly Father every morning and night for guidance, strength, and comfort. I know that he is there for me where ever I am. What ever I do, I know He loves me and wants to hear my voice towards Him. I know when I cry out to Him, He answers and I know that I always have a hand reaching out to me in all my hours of need. I try to read the Holy Scriptures everyday. I know that through the words of the prophets, modern and old, I can become even closer to my Heavenly Father than I was the days prior. The scriptures are my compass, my light, and my study guide. I feel so blessed that I live in a time period where I can easily get my hands on scriptures. I am also serving a full-time 2 year mission in the Missouri Independence Mission. Consecrating myself completely to my Lord and Savior to serve and share the good news that is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
