Hi I'm Benjamin

I am a piano teacher, bagpiper, organist, eagle scout, one of twelve children and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Spending time with my family is my favorite thing to do. I love it! I also enjoy leisurely playing the piano and bagpipe. My family is very musical and we have enjoyed many opportunities to perform our instruments and sing at community events and care centers. I have also been blessed to share my piano skills as a piano teacher to young children. I also like problem solving. From Lego building to competing on a homeschool FIRST Robotics team, engineering is my hobby. I find great joy in outdoor recreation. Canoeing, camping, climbing, and outdoor sports brings me great happiness especially when my family is present. Though I love activity I have also found the great peace the outdoors offers as I ponder and think about life amid its grandeur.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Because I know the Book of Mormon is true and that God lives. He knows me and has a plan for me. I want to return to His presence, and in the restored and full gospel of Jesus Christ I have learned how I can. I cannot deny under any circumstance that Jesus Christ lives and that the Book of Mormon is true. I have received a witness of these truths not from my parents or church leaders but from God Himself through His holy Spirit. "What greater witness can you have than from God?" (Doctrine and Covenants 6:23).

How I live my faith

Serving as one of five ward organist and as an leader in the young men's organization, I have learned that God qualifies us for His work. When I was first called as an organist, I struggled to play church hymns without disrupting mistakes. Yet, God has improved my talent and I now play proficiency and confidence. The LDS church's Duty to God program has blessed and taught me how to set and achieve goals to become the person God wants me to be. I know He is waiting to shower innumerable additional blessings on all His children that seek to become who He knows we can become. My brothers, parents, and I are also very active in my scout troop. I have found that the scouting program, when properly coupled with the Duty to God program, is a most powerful tool to both teach and motivate young men to live physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight lives. I have been so blessed by the guidance and opportunities it has provided. I have learned leadership, integrity, cleanliness, and service. I look forward with hope to a life of service and joy.
