Hi I'm Dani

I'm a Mother, a teacher, a lover of language, a designer and much, much more. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I spent most of my childhood thinking I would grow up to be a teacher and for several years I was. I've taught everything from ballet and swimming lessons to English as a Second Language and Spanish for Spanish Speakers. Teaching is my "thing". It is what I was made to do on this earth! It is one of my biggest passions and brings me so much joy. However, I am at a place in my life where I must fulfill another even more important role, the role of Mom. This last year I put my high school teaching career on hold to raise our little munchkins as a stay at home mom. I still keep busy with an online design business, but I must say, I miss the classroom. The transition from putting grades into to the grade-book to putting dishes in the dishwasher has not been the easiest. But I know that for right now, this is where I need to be. I am now my children's 24 hour, in-home teacher. And who better for that job right?!

Why I am a Mormon

During my time as a high school teacher, I would often have students ask me why I would ever choose to be a Mormon. They would go on to tell me that there were too many rules and that there was no way you could have fun being a Mormon and that this life was for eating, drinking and being merry. And every time I would tell them this: My church is not one about restrictions. It is not a bunch of rules. It is one simple principle. Try to be the best person you can possibly be, try and emulate Christ. It may be hard for some who have never lead such a lifestyle, but it is undeniable how happy you are when you are trying to be the best version of you. Living up to the potential our Heavenly Father sees in us is not easy, and we all fall short at times (hence the amazing gift of the Atonement) but it is so worth it. There is fun in being good. There is joy in righteous living. There is peace in the Gospel of Christ.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as the Music Leader in our primary for children 3-12 and I got to say, I hit the jackpot with this calling! I love getting to teach the Gospel and teachings of Christ through music. I truly believe the scripture that says, "the song of the righteous is a prayer unto me."
