Hi I'm Tyler Jenkin

I joined the church when I was 16. I study Biology at UNLV. I love Science, my family, my friends, and God's church.

About Me

I am 27 years old. I have two sons, and my wife is pregnant with a third child. My favorite things to do are play games of all kinds(video, board, recreational, sports) I study Biology and plan to be a physicians assistant. I love music, play guitar and am learning the drums and piano.

Why I am a Mormon

It took me a long time to become a member of this church(6 yrs) I joined when I was 16. It felt like a huge sacrifice to give up coffee, to go to church for 3 hours every Sunday, and I had already been baptized in a different church, and "saved" by accepting Jesus as my Savior in even another church. I didn't understand why I would need another baptism or even more church, but my Mormon friends were always so happy and I was always happier when I was around my Mormon friends. I could feel the spirit of God. I was even dating a Mormon girl in high school, and tried to live like them. I changed in every way. I became more confident, more happy, more motivated, and I started to go with them to church and seminary (church school before public school). Finally, I decided to get baptized. It was not an easy change at all, and I almost left the church, but I stuck with it because i had helpful friends who extinguished my fears and doubts with doctrine and testimony. That's Why I joined the church (because of the people). The reason I am still a member is because I know the Gospel of Jesus Christ is real. I can honestly say that I am happier than I have ever been, and I owe all my happiness to God. This Church has brought me closer to God than any of the other churches that I attended. I have found God's Kingdom on earth, and it is the the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints.

How I live my faith

I go to church weekly, attend the UNLV institute of religion twice a week. I teach the 9-10 year old children in my congregation's Sunday school and love seeing the gospel touch their hearts and lives.
