Hi I'm Hannah Christensen

I grew up in Canberra, Australia. I am a Musical Theatre performer. I'm a mormon.

About Me

Music and theatre are my life. I moved to Sydney, Australia in 2010 to begin my Bachelor of Music at the Australian Institute of Music. During my studies I performed in a number of Musicals such as Les Miserable, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Oliver!, and two seasons of Hairspray. In 2013 I fell in love with my husband, and moved to Provo, Utah. We were married on Valentines Day 2014.

Why I am a Mormon

I was brought up in an Anglican family, and went to Catholic schools. I always had so many questions about the two faiths which always went unanswered or the answers did not satisfy me, so as a teenager I stopped attending church and became Agnostic. I felt that I did not need to attend 'man made' church in order to have a relationship with God. In 2012 I was introduced to the LDS faith by a friend I was doing a production of Les Miserables with at the time. We became friends during a very difficult time of my life. We spent a lot of time together, and she began to invite me to parties or hangouts with other Young Single Adult (YSA) members of the church. Coming from a culture where drinking to socialise was the norm it was extremely refreshing to be in an environment where young people were able to have fun without such means. I began to attend church events, and love the light and happiness if felt around the YSA. I told my family I was spending time with members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and my Mum told me she had recently met some missionaries of the church in a little coastal town called Narooma. During the Christmas Holidays while my family was all in Narooma, I was introduced to the missionaries. Initially I wanted to be educated of LDS beliefs out of respect for my member friends. As the elders were giving me the lessons I realised that I wanted this life, these standards and morals for my future children. All my questions were answered, and I gained a testimony of the Gospel and found that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is my truth.

How I live my faith

As a recent convert, and a Theatre performer I had to attend different wards to be able to go to church on sundays, my first calling was Assistant Young Single Adults Representative, which was short lived, as I fell in love and moved to Provo at the end of 2013. We have just joined a young married ward in Provo and look forward to receiving our callings here. My husband and I pray as a couple and have FHE to prepare our home for our future children. It also brings us closer together and feeds us spiritually. We were married by the Bishop of my husbands home ward, and are preparing to be sealed in the temple.
