Hi I'm Cole

I enjoy photography, singing in choir, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in Oregon my entire life. I come from a family of 4 kids and I'm the oldest, I love my family! Growing up in Oregon you'd think I'd be used to the rain but I can't get enough of hanging out in the sun with my family. Since elementary school I've been infatuated with photography, from my dinky little point and shoot camera to my dSLR I've come a long way in photography. It is a passion of mine and I love being able to share my photos with others. I am currently preparing to serve a mission for the church and am very excited to do so!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised as a Mormon. However I still had to gain a testimony of its truth. Through several trials I have faced my testimony of His plan and the truth of the Gospel has been tested. Though through every trial and test it has been strengthened. The church has been part of my life forever, I didn't really convert until about my sophomore year of high school. I have felt that the church is true my entire life but I didn't really know. I knew that I needed to gain witness for myself of it's truth. For a long time I had just been going along doing what I was supposed to and just kind of cruising, not really taking any extra action. I knew that if I was going to really get anything out of this life or the Gospel I would need to know. The summer before my sophomore year after having a hard long freshman year, I decided I needed to really think about what I was doing and find out if this whole Book of Mormon, Latter-day Saint thing was true. On a summer vacation at a cabin in the woods around midnight, I prayed to my God for assurance that I would know of the churches truth. As a member I had read the Book of Mormon once all the way through. I felt the spirit tell me to read through an old journal I had kept since the 6th grade. I saw in it the miracles and blessings that had to come me through the church and realized that I had been recording experiences that my Heavenly Father had given me without even realizing it. I knew at that point that the church was true. I thanked my Heavenly Father and wrote down my testimony. I am so thankful for the church and the blessings I have received from it. I know that it is the true church and that it was restored to the earth through the prophet Joseph Smith. I know that the Book of Mormon and the Bible is the lords gospel and that the Book of Mormon was translated by Joseph Smith. In the name if Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I love my faith! I live my faith by going to church and partaking of the sacrament. As high school students we also attend an early morning class called seminary. Every morning at 6:35 (yes it can seem early sometimes) I am at the church to learn about the Gospel of Christ! What a wonderful way to start my school day with the words of prophets and Christ! In the church we also receive callings, I have served as a Seminary president (starting seminary every morning). One of the greatest aspects of our religion and one I really love, is the fellowship that is felt in the Church! Many of the callings in the church are designed to help out members and administer to them. The service given and the fellowship felt are very important aspects in the LDS church, as a member I try to strive to work and help out as many people as I can!

What is being a Mormon like?

Cole
Simply put being a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (or Mormon) is great! The fellowship and care that members have for each other is as helpful as it is comforting! The knowledge that comes from being a member of the restored Church of Jesus Christ is amazing! The fact that we can create families and progress with them into eternity, rejoining our Heavenly Father is awesome. Knowing of his great plan for all of his children is essential to understanding why we do what we do and why we are here. These are the sorts of things that we can and do learn and gain testimony of in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is comforting as imperfect humans, to know where it is we came from and how to make it back to our Father through the atonement of his son Jesus the Christ. As members of this church we strive to make good choices and share the gospel with everyone who'll hear it. We have felt the Spirit of God and wish to share that with everyone. It truly is the church of the Lords restored gospel on this earth! Show more Show less
