Hi I'm Garrick

I grew up in a family that enjoys a variety of music. I love listening to and playing all kinds of music myself. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up differently from most of my family. With a large age gap and growing up in different states I had opportunities that the rest of my family did not really have. Early on I decided to play ice hockey and did so for many years. I really enjoyed playing but eventually the cost of equipment and travel became too much for my and me to afford and I just no longer had time luckily, I had discovered my true passion in music. I have played violin for six years and have recently picked up mandolin and guitar. I enjoy playing music for myself, and performing for others. I love seeing how people react to mine and other's performances. What I love most is bringing joy to others through music and this is one of the reasons I have decided to serve a mission: so that I can bring the everlasting joy of the gospel to others. I have grown up in the church and know that my passion and talent for music is a gift from God to allow me to help others whether through the music itself or the life lessons I have learned from it. I can not wait to serve my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in the church and seeing how dedicated my family was to make it to church and follow the gospel, I knew how important the church was early on. When we moved it was the friends I made in church that helped me get used to my new surroundings. Flash forward to the teenage years and this is where the church really helped me. During this time of constant pressure and unsure feelings, the gospel and its teachings kept me on a path to success and let me make it through junior high and high school with few problems and has put me on a path to be successful as long as I stay dedicated to what I believe in and what I have decided is important to me.

How I live my faith

I genuinely enjoy attending church and listening to the speakers and teachers throughout the 3 hours I spend in church. Living the faith and making decisions based on what I know of the gospel of Christ has never been difficult for me, even if I have strayed a few times. I have worked in an environment where there are not very many other mormons. I love to answer their questions and help them to truly understand what we believe and what the church is truly about.
