Hi I'm Jasmine

I grew up in Idaho. I love music and the power it has. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Most of the time, peoples first impression of me is I'm mature, maybe soft spoken, and act older than I really am. However, when you get to know me I'm kind of childish, a little crazy, and hyper when I have to much sugar! I love cartoons (especially anime), computer/video games, writing and accessories, but my true passion is music! I believe that music is one of the most powerful emotional tools humans can wield, especially when used correctly. I always feel the spirit when uplifting or calm music plays, and I want to share that spirit to the rest of the world. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, which is frustrating, and I do get jealous when I see someone doing something better than me, but I always try to stop and remind myself that they had opportunities that I didn't have. I was also homeschooled since 2nd grade and spent my senior year of high school in a private school and was able to get a high score on my GED after some tutoring, which I'm happy about.

Why I am a Mormon

My family was inactive for the early years of my life. My mother was a convert and my dad grew up in the church, but my dad holds grudges better than anyone I know, and he felt the ward had wronged his family. However, I would ask every Sunday if we were going to church that morning, and eventually we started going again and never left. My Mom always tells me that if I wasn't so persistant we most likely wouldn't have come back to church. I love the gospel and it has helped me throughout my life. I'm also sensitive to the spirit, and there have been times that I can 'see' the light of Christ in people, if the spirit is strong enough. There was one girl I knew where I could literally see light glowing around her! I live for those moments where I can share with those people how brightly their lights shine! I would not be the woman I am without the gospel and the knowledge and love that I get from the Lord. One thing I struggle with is depression. There have been times where I feel as though no one understands what I go through and no one cares about me, but then I remember Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father, and I remember that they love me and understand. They know what I go though and are there every step of the way! One thing that comforts me is that I know where I'm going when I die, and I want to make sure that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ aren't disapointed with how I lived my life. That is what drives me to be a better person each day, and I know that this gospel is true and complete!

How I live my faith

I am a ward missionary in my ward, and it as been challenging! I have always wanted to serve a mission, but I lack the funds to do so, so I guess this is the Lord's way of giving me the experience. The hardest thing for me in this calling is talking to people I don't know or who I've met for the first time, and I'm very awkward on the phone. However I have been learning to overcome this and have been able to help organize the records in my ward and bring others to the church. I'm happy that I'm able to do that, and I hope to be able to do more in the next few years!
