Hi I'm Garrett

I grew up in Canada, I'm a BYU student, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 19 year old student at Brigham Young University in Provo Utah. I love playing basketball, playing piano, and writing music. When I was 14 I accidentally started writing music when I started smacking my fists on the keys of my family's piano. Since then, I have devoted my life to learning how to play better and better. When I'm not doing homework or in class, I spend the majority of my time trying to write music. I grew up in Calgary Alberta Canada, and I learned to love hockey, snowboarding, and quality time with family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the Church to a mother that can only be described with one word: Perfect. Cydne Anne Godfrey pounded Christ like principles and attributes into each one of her children, and I was no exception. Like any other member of the church, I've experienced heartbreak, temptation, despair, and hopelessness. But what was always constant was my mothers love and light, consistently there to keep my on track, consistently training me to the man that she always knew I could be. Through her love and support, I somehow made it through high school, and am now ready to serve a full time mission. Why am I Mormon? The undying love and support of an angel. My mother.

How I live my faith

I recently recieved my mission call to serve in Daejeon South Korea. I will be serving there for a period of 24 months, which I understand is an incredibly big time commitment. I am scared out of my mind to begin, scared out of my mind to leave the United States, scared to learn Korean, scared of a lot of things. But I know that my loving heavenly father and savior Jesus Christ will provide me with strentgh and courage as I do so many things that I would have thought impossible. I cannot wait to bring truth and light to the people of Korea.
