Hi I'm Sister Lund

I am; a Daughter in His kingdom, and a servant as His missionary, I believe in the healing power of laughter, and I am a Mormon :)

About Me

My family is the most important part of my life without them I would be lost. They have been my greatest support throughout my life and my mission they are my biggest fans and I am theirs :) I love them so much and don't know what I would do without them. I want them to be with me throughout time and all eternity and are the biggest blessing in my life. I am serving in the Independence Missouri Mission there is so much history there and am having amazing experiences! missionary work is my main hobby before I left my mission I would even go out with the sister missionaries at least weekly and I love it! I have so many great memories and I am forever grateful for them! if you haven't met with the missionaries yet PLEASE do! they are completely understanding I'm so excited to become a servant like them. I am Sister Lund a daughter of a king and I am a Mormon :)

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I Mormon? Because I know that this church is true, I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, I know that am nothing without God and I know that Jesus Christ died for our sins so that we may be forgiven, forgiveness is the hardest but most relieving feeling EVER! it's because of Jesus that I am made clean I will admit that even though I was born and raised in the church I stopped going to church and not living my faith I knew that something was ALWAYS missing in my life and I doubted the Lord, however I still prayed when I felt it was needed but I always felt that my prayers were never answered until my sophomore year of high school, my mom and I knew that we needed a change we were both going through a hard time and needed some uplifting in our life and when we went back I had the most spiritual experience ever I will never forget, I founded seminary and I turned my life around and to make a long story short I learned these things and I used them in my life and I am forever blessed because of it I have never felt more happier, I have made friends that are spiritual and great examples to me (even those who are of different faiths and beliefs ;) they are amazing!) and because of this church I am a changed woman and now IM SERVING A MISSION! :D I love Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and I want to redeem myself from my wrong doings and doubts that I ever had about this gospel! and I leave that with you in the name of Jesus's name Amen!!!

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday not just on Sunday's I pray every day, share the Gospel in one way or another (especially at work) and with my friends. I cannot express how much I love missionary work it's the best work ever! I read the scriptures day and night, but mostly at night because I'll be the first one to admit that I am NOT perfect and sometimes I get carried away with other duties, I read books that are church related, I have had to make some sacrifices and made promises to The Lord to obey His commandments and live them, Go to the Temple as often as I can, follow the words of the Prophet's and His Apostles, and the most important but simple act of faith I go to church every Sunday and partake of the sacrament (which is the most important meeting in the church)

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Sister Lund
In my personal experience some of the things that told me that there was a God because He has given me evidence of this by helping me through hard times, praying and receiving answer (3rd Nephi 18:21) "and whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, which is right, believing that ye shall receive, behold it shall be given unto you" there have been experiences in my life that I can't explain except it be through God and also personal revelation that these things are true! the spirit has testified unto to me that The Lord loves us and is willing to help us if we just come unto Him and repent I have done it and have felt the power of prayer, He has shown unto me miracles that I can't explain and has changed me for the better! another piece of evidence is virtually everything around me, nature, the beauties of the world it reminds me of the Hymn "all creatures of our God and King" Show more Show less

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Sister Lund
I have learned that one of the many ways to increase your Faith in Jesus Christ is by following the commandments of: C.P.R= Church, Pray, Read just like when C.P.R. revives us when are bodies are hurt Church, Praying and Reading revive our spirit when we feel down on ourselves and our testimony is weakens I have found this to be true because I have followed these commandments and seen the remarkable change in myself from doing these things that lead me to eternal happiness and Joy! I feel my Saviors love and I have the Faith I need to strengthen my spirit and feel the companionship of the Holy Ghost more present in my daily life. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Sister Lund
There is a song that I really love that answers this answers this question perfectly... it's a well known Disney movie 'Hercules' he sings his song "Go the Distance" this is a bit of a different version but that message is still the same. 'I have often Dreamed of a far off place where a great warm welcome will be waiting for me,where the crowds will cheer when they see my face, and a voice keeps saying "this is where I'm meant to be", I will find my way I can Go the Distance, I'll be there someday if I can be strong, I know every mile will be worth my while I can go the Distance to find where I belong.Down an unknown road to embrace my fate that though road may wander it will lead me to you and a thousand years would be worth the wait, it may take a lifetime but somehow I'll see it through and I won't look back, I can go the Distance and I'll stay on track no I won't accept defeat, it's an uphill slope but I won't loose hope till I go the Distance and my journey is complete.Like a shooting star I can go the Distance I will search the world I will face it's harms, I know every mile will be worth my while till I find that welcome waiting in your arms.' I love that song. I testify that Christ lives and that Heavenly Father loves us I testify that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God and that Joseph Smith was our first Prophet. I encourage you to read Moroni 10:4-5 (and meet with the missionaries) ;) so that you too can Go the Distance and find where you belong. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Sister Lund
As a Missionary one thing people have to understand is that we are there to share what we know, bare our testimonies and add to what they already cherish. Our purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the Restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and his Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost and Endure to the end. Enduring to the end sounds like it's easier said than done and Satan is trying REALLY hard to drag us down to be as miserable as he is but really when we have the Gospel in your life, and have the knowledge that we are loved by a Father in Heaven who wants us to be happy, what have you got to lose by learning more? Missionaries are there to increase faith in Jesus Christ and bring the Spirit into people's homes we are all beloved daughter and son of God! Missionaries share messages about how families can be together forever and how we can become closer to the Savior. Heavenly Father has a plan for us and it's our Job to share how that plan can bless the lives of others and also their families and loved ones. Show more Show less

How do I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church)?

Sister Lund
If you want to become a member the missionaries will help you with knowledge and with the steps you need to take to gain that conversion process. They give a total of 5-6 short presentations that only last about 15-60 minutes which includes time for asking questions BUT you have to read and pray about the Book of Mormon and know if it's true, then you need to pray if Joseph Smith was a Prophet and if Thomas S. Monson is a true Prophet on the earth today. Being a missionary myself it won't be easy, Satan knows that you are doing a good thing and he's going to want to stop you BUT one way that you can avoid him is to C.P.R=Church, Pray, Read :) it's an amazing thing to witness someone light up with the gospel their lives are forever changed, their families grow stronger, and they have a sure foundation that Christ is going to take care of them no matter what the circumstances are :) we love you and we hope to see you in the celestial kingdom ;) Show more Show less

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

Sister Lund
I want to be clear...I do not wish to brag about my strengths or abilities I am just sharing a little bit more about me so that anyone who is interested in the church can know just how normal Mormons are, I'm certainly not perfect but I try everyday to be more like him! :) I LOVE to laugh it's truly the best medicine, I can sometimes laugh so hard I wheeze, it is scientifically proven that laughter can decrease stress, anxiety, and even some forms of depression whether big OR small and since I have two of those I try a new approach to handling my issues. Laughter is how I cope with some things even in circumstances that I feel under pressure or stressed for example; at church when I ask to give a talk in sacrament meeting I get a little nervous (as everyone does) but something I like to do differently is get the other members engaged and more inclined to listen so I tell a funny story or exaggerate my motions and such so that others can feel energized and awake. There's nothing worse then looking down at the pulpit and seeing someone taking a snooze or looking miserable. When people laugh I know I have done my job, because people remember not just what you say but how you made them feel, you can laugh and still feel the spirit. Show more Show less
