Hi I'm Sharon Watkins

I grew up in California, USA, have a PhD in Life Experiences and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I have 6 children and 12 grandchildren. I was a young widow and have unfortunately been through 2 divorces since. That is how I earned my PhD in "Life Experiences." I am currently serving a full time 18 month mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Illinois Nauvoo Mission. I am so very excited for this blessing and opportunity. 5 of my 6 children also served missions throughout the world when they were young. Now it is my turn! Prior to my mission call I worked as an Advance Funeral Planner at a local mortuary where I met with people of all faiths, cultures and ages. I was active in Kiwanis International and directed the Trauma Doll program. I sang for 3 1/2 years in the Millennial Choral Organization Orange County performing group and also conduct church choirs. I love to walk, golf, swim, and play table tennis!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe it is the right path for me to take to return back to my Father in Heaven after I die. My testimony of Jesus Christ helps me find joy and happiness now. I have read the Book of Mormon, studied the Bible and other scriptures and prayed to know of their truthfulness. I have prayed to know whether or not Joseph Smith was the prophet the Lord called to restore His gospel to the earth. I have prayed for myself to know if there is a living prophet on the earth today - Thomas S. Monson. My answers have come from God and I know all of this to be true and found in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

I live my religion by treating others the way I would like to be treated. I love cultural diversity, religious diversity and being involved in community groups. I love to live my religion by being kind, considerate and thoughtful of others. I try to look for ways to serve others at all times. I love answering questions about what I believe to any one interested and wanting to know more about my church. I have many friends not of my faith and we have a wonderful relationship. We respect each others beliefs and values.
