Hi I'm Taylor

I'm a military kid, so I've lived all over! I have lived in three different continents and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I'm Taylor, and I love just about everything there is to do outside! I love grinding it out on the basketball court in the summer and snowboarding in the winter. I'm a military "brat" and have lived all over the world. I love traveling in person or just letting my mind drift into a good book. Speaking of good books, the Book of Mormon is just about the best one I can think of!

Why I am a Mormon

I am not a Mormon because I was raised up in it. Yes, both my parents have been active members since before I was born, but that is not why I call myself a Mormon. I call myself a Mormon because I have read the scriptures and lived its teachings and have felt better when I did than when I didn't. I know that sounds like something a child would say, "It makes me feel good," but it is true. The times in my life that have been the worst have been the times that I have not done what I know to be right. The times that my life has been the best—not necessarily the easiest—have been when I have been closest to the teachings of my church. My life would, more than likely, be different were I not a part of this church. It has molded me into the person that I am today, and has helped my through the hardest parts of my life. I know that as I continue to live the way that the scriptures guide, I will be happier, healthier, and more at peace than I would be without it.

How I live my faith

I'm from a place that does not have many people who believe the exact same way I do. I live my life trying to be an example of what our church represents so that people who haven't met a Mormon can say, "I don't know many Mormons, but that Taylor kid was really nice and genuine." I have a job in the church of preparing lessons for the second hour of church where the men and women meet together, a class called Sunday School. I love my calling, the job, because it makes sure that I set aside time each week to study not only scriptures, but teachings of our modern day prophets as well. I know that I have learned more about my faith from the discussions that the amazing members and I have had in that class. It makes church even more enjoyable each week!
