Hi I'm Chase

I'm a Polynesian dancer, I play music, I love to laugh, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a big family of 7 kids, of which I'm number 5. I started dancing while I was in elementary school, and it's become a part of me. I've travelled around the world! I'm thankful for a loving mother who sometimes against my will, pushed me to keep dancing. It's helped me to grow and learn about and come to love culture, whatever it may be. Music pretty much dominates my life and is a deep passion of mine. I love learning how to play new instruments and different styles and genres. I've been blessed with just enough talent to be able to play pretty much anything I can get my hands on. I believe music has the power to change people's hearts. There's nothing better to me than a group of family and friends together with a guitar or an ukulele in someone's hands. I love all forms of art. When you focus and really look, you can find art in anything! Family is the most important thing to me, and I wouldn't be who I am right now without them. My family pushes me to become better, and I love them for that.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, and always heard people say that "the church is true". I went to church every Sunday, went to Youth Activities, and attended Seminary. All the while, hearing people say that they knew of the truthfulness of this Gospel. I never really doubted it, but there came a time when I had to find out for myself. I followed the examples of people that had testimonies, and the examples found in the scriptures. My answer didn't come all at once. I think it came gradually as I started remembering things I've seen in my life, that could have only happened if this was truly the Lord's Church. I can honestly say I've seen miracles, and slowly everything I had been taught growing up seemed to fall in place. I started to see the bigger picture. I've seen the blessings that living the Gospel brings, and I've also seen how hard life can be without it. I got my answer. And no, the heavens didn't open up to me, the clouds didn't part, and there was no voice from Heaven that shook the walls. I got a simple reassuring of something I already knew. A peaceful feeling that I already knew that what I learned growing up is the truth. Now I just had to live it. I discovered that the Gospel isn't just a passive thing that you merely "believe" in, and it's not just a "lifestyle choice". This is Jesus Christ's church once again on the Earth. The fullness of the Gospel was Restored to the Earth through a prophet named Joseph Smith. The Book of Mormon is the word of God, and the people and stories within are very real. I know that because I have felt the gentle, yet powerful witness of the Holy Ghost bear testimony of it to me. The clouds didn't part, and an angel didn't appear to me, but I know without a doubt that this is Jesus Christ's true church. It's more than just a place to go on a Sunday morning. The Gospel has shown me that there is indeed a much bigger picture here, and that each of us has a very important part in it.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a full time missionary in the Wellington, New Zealand mission. I love meeting new people, sharing my beliefs with them, and also learning about theirs. Every day, I strive to live the teachings of Jesus Christ and I am always looking for ways to help anyone and everyone in need.
