Hi I'm Wing K. Tang

Hi, I grew up in Hong Kong. My wife and I have three children and I love my family. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I am a Latter-days Saints. My wife and I have two daughters and a son. I love my family. I work in a school as a caretaker and I enjoy working there. I love art especially I love to paint and draw. This is what I studied in university.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Latter-days saint or sometime people will call us Mormon. I have known the church since I was 9 or 10 years old when my father was investigating the church. I had no interest in religion when I was young but because of my father, I had a lot of opportunities to come in contact with the church and the missionaries. These memories were somehow imbeded in my mind. They have planned a seed. In a summer when I was 18, I was alone at home. Two missionaries knocked on my door. I welcomed them and started to listen to their message. After a couple visits, I found their message really mean a lot to me which I have never felt before. After about three months, they invited me to be baptized and they asked me to pray and find out whether it is the right thing to do. So one day after their lesson, the two elders and I kneed down and prayed for that. I do not remember what exactly was being said, but I remember very clearly how I felt after the the prayer. It was a very peaceful and calm feeling. I still remember how I feel even 32 years later. I got baptized shortly after that. I am very thankful for the missionaries. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn the restored gospel of our Savior Jesus Christ. I was blessed so greatly and I hope others especially my brother and sisters would someday have the same blessings that I have. I know God loves me and He also love my family. I am very happy and thankful to be a Mormon, a Latter-days saint, a humble follower of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I was baptized in 1981 when I was 18. Few years after that I had an opportunity to work in China. During the three years that I work there I rarely had any chance to attend church. One night in China when I was alone, I was so amazed by the majestic sky. While I was gazing at the sky, I suddenly had an overwhleming feeling that Heavenly Father was watching over me. I felt His Love. Afther three years of work in China I went back to Hong Kong. The first thing I said to my bishop was I would like to go on a mission. Unfortunately, my bishop did not see fit for me to go on mission. In stead, he encourage me to attend BYU. I didn't blame him. I would do the same if some young man come to me and request to go on a mission and that young man have not showed up in church for three years. It turned out to be the turning point of my life. I listened to his counsel and went ot BYU. After one year in BYU, I went on my mission. I was sent to my home city Hong Kong to serve a two year mission. I did serve with all my heart and finished my two year mission with honorable release. I was so grateful for that opportunity. I love my mission so much. After my mission, I went back to BYU and merried my loving wife. My wife and I both graduated with our degrees and two loving babies. My family and I always so close to the church. We have served in many different callings and my children are always with us. I am the ward mission leader and I love my calling. I love my wife and my children. I pray to God everyday that I could have more love and care for them.
