Hi I'm Ryan Andersen

I grew up in Utah, I am just an ordinary guy. I'm a Mormon and have been for life!

About Me

I am the father of six children, one of which we just adopted at age 22. We live in southern Utah and have been here for 26 years. I have always loved the young people and have enjoyed working with them in the Boy Scouts of America and the Church organization. I love there zeal for life. I enjoy camping and hiking and viewing wildlife. I love to go to the mountains and enjoy some of God's greatest creations. I love to spend time with my family in the outdoors. When our children were younger we loved to camp and fish as a family. I love being with my children. My family is the most important thing in my life. I love watching them go out into the world and learn and become wonderful adults. I love to play sports and have always enjoyed good competition. My children have inherited that trait. My oldest daughter loves to play racquetball and usually beats most of the guys she plays against. My oldest son loves to play basketball and one of his best days was when he beat his dad. My second son also enjoys beating his dad on the basketball court. He is the fast one of the family and loves to chase down Frisbee's. Our middle daughter loves to throw the javelin and to run. My youngest daughter loves to play basketball and cook. Our adopted son loves people and loves to play football. My wife just loves to support her children. My family is like most families, we love to be together and we know that we will always be together even after this life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the Church that Jesus Christ restored to the earth in the Latter Days. It is the only Church on the earth that has His authority to administer in the ordinances that will allow us to return and live with him again. I see the joy and happiness that living the gospel brings into the lives of those who truly live the gospel. Through living the teachings of Jesus Christ and focusing on him in our daily lives we find true happiness. The Church teaches those things that will bring us closer to Christ and that will bring happiness in to our lives. The power to seal families beyond this life is the greatest blessing and knowledge that we can have. Knowing that I can be together with my wife and children and my parents and siblings after this life brings peace to my life. One of the reasons we adopted our 22 year old son was so that he can be sealed to us and that he can be part of our eternal family. He will now belong to us beyond the grave. The Atonement of Jesus Christ has real meaning when I know that if I do all I can do to live a righteous life that his atonement will make up the rest of what I need to be able to return to his presence after this life. The gospel to me is my guide for living a happy and fulfilling life. It brings true joy to my life because it brings real understanding to the purpose of life. The things of the world offer a temporary happiness, the gospel of Jesus Christ brings eternal joy into our lives and our hearts. The gospel of Jesus Christ is about serving our fellow men and helping others to experience the joy that I feel in my life. Knowing that he is real and that he loves me, allows me to deal with the stresses of each day and of life. I know that no matter what happens in my life that in the end it will all be worth it and that I can return and live with him. Peace, Joy, and Happiness is why the Church is so important to me.

How I live my faith

My life is a reflection of my faith. I have always felt that a mans religion is manifest in his behavior. The Church of Jesus Christ allows us to serve others. In the Church I have had many different opportunities to serve. I have worked mostly with the youth. I have been a Scout leader several different times over the years. I have also worked with younger children, teaching them the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love being with the children as they were most recently with our Heavenly Father. I have always loved to be around them because of the things they say and do. I have also served in leadership positions in the Church and have loved the things I have learned from others. One of the things I most enjoy about serving in the Church is being able to help others. I love taking a group of youth and going to help out an elderly neighbor who needs help in their yard or who needs to have repairs done on their home. I love to work side by side with the young people teaching them that true happiness comes through helping others. It is great to see the smile on their faces and the dirt on their clothes and faces after a long day of working to help someone else. I also enjoy visiting with others and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them. I love to visit others to help lift their spirits when they are down. I love to work with the youth to help them overcome their struggles and help them in their search to be happy. The Church has allowed me many opportunities to do so. Going out and finding the lost sheep is the greatest thing that I have been involved in, during the many years that I have been able to serve in the Church. Sharing the gospel with friends who don't have it also brings me great joy.
