Hi I'm Natalie

I'm a singer, and I love dancing. I've had 4 concussions. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Alabama and lived there till I was 11 when my parents moved our family to Utah. From the time I was little I've always loved singing, dancing, and telling stories. When I was 3 I begged my mom to let me take ballet, and I stuck with it for 8 years, taking Jazz, hip-hop, and tap at different times as well. When I was 11, right before we moved I had an injury and had to take a long break. I stared taking private voice lessons when I was 8. It was after my injury and had to take a break from dancing that I discovered exactly how much I LOVE singing. I've taken for 10 years and plan on continuing for a long time :) I'm in my fourth semester of college right now and am loving it. I've only been able to take one class per semester till this semester (I'm in two classes right now!) because of recovery from four concussions (mild Traumatic Brain Injury, and severe post concussion syndrome). I'm so thankful that I'm able to add things slowly back into my life again, and am so thankful for the support of my family in this recovery (and in every part of my life!). I've also grown a lot closer to my Heavenly Father and Savior during this experience and cherish knowing how much they love me. One more thing: I'd love to travel! Europe, Africa, Asia, Russia, South America, New Zealand, Jerusalem... You name it, I probably would love to visit!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I feel closer to God when I live the principles taught by the church, and from the scriptures (which are in harmony with each other). I am a Mormon because I've read the Book of Mormon and feel a confirmation of its truthfulness when I read it. I know that Families can be eternal. I know that my Savior lives and loves me. I know that Heavenly Father wants me to find joy and peace in this life and in the life to come, and I find that by living the commandments, and making and keeping covenants (or promises) with Him. These are things the church teaches. We came from God's presence, and after this life we will return to Him and be held accountable for our actions in this life. None of us are perfect, but as we continue learning about Jesus Christ and His Atonement we will better understand what our purpose is in this life and what is expected of us, and we will have a desire to make necessary changes in our lives that will bring us closer to God. I know this is true because I've seen it happen in my own life.

How I live my faith

I love the little things the Gospel teaches. That's when you really become close to the Lord. Morning and Evening Prayer (as well as throughout the day whenever ya need it), scripture study everyday, and looking for little ways to serve other people, and remembering that everyone is a beloved child of our Heavenly Father. I've found that the days I focus on these small, simple things, are the days that go much smoother and if an unexpected crisis does arrive I'm able to handle it without very much panic, and feel the clam assurance that everything will work out in the end. It's amazing how hectic and overwhelming my days are if I forget one of these things. I have two callings in my Young Single Adult Ward (congregation). Celebrating birthdays for all the women, and family history consultant! I love helping the women feel loved and noticed on their birthday (we usually give them a small something to let them know we're thinking of them). And I love working on Family History! I was really overwhelmed before I realized how easy it was. I love feeling connected to my family and those who've gone before. It gives me a sense of belonging to something much bigger then myself. And I love helping others feel that way about their families as well.
