Hi I'm Tim

I grew up in Henderson, Tx. I love the East Texas area. I'm attending BYU in Utah and studying mechanical engineering.

About Me

I'm the youngest of six kids. That's four brothers and a sister. We're scattered all over the place these days. I love hiking and camping. I can be happy doing just about anything outdoors. I like to fish, but I hardly know anything about it. Mostly I just cast and lose most of my lures and enjoy a rare catch here and there. I love football and basketball. I grew up in the great high school football atmosphere of East Texas. I'd still rather be at a good game on a fall Friday night than anywhere else. As much as I love Texas I had to move to Utah before I met my wife. We met at the singles ward we both attended and just wrapped up one year of pure awesome married life. I'm 26 years old and going for a mechanical engineering degree at BYU. I've done a lot of traveling around the states. My favorite trip was a 60 mile hike at Philmont Scout Ranch through the mountains of NE New Mexico. The Hoh Rain Forest in Olympic National Park also ranks among the most beautiful places I've ever seen. It doesn't matter where I'm at though. Vacations are awesome as long as I have my family along side me. I look forward to every adventure with my dad by my side. A few years ago we rafted the whitewater on the Cache La Poudre River in Colorado and even though it was the coldest water I've ever been in, it didn't bother me because I had my family in the boat and my old man right next to me in the bow. Having family with you makes everything that much better.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm Mormon because I tried not to be at one point in my life, and the difference was night and day. Practicing the gospel gives me more joy, happiness, purpose, and blessings than anything I have ever indulged in. If you want to know if something is right, then try it and see if the Lord blesses you for it. I know for a fact that everything good that has happened to me in recent years stems from choosing the Lord over the world. It has never been easy and never will be, but the Lord has told us to try him and he will prove that something is right by pouring out more blessings than we can imagine. I testify that when we do our best to follow the Lord, he will let everything else fall into place in our lives. It may not always come together like we want, but He knows what we need. We do not need to be perfect, but as long as we strive to be he will one day make us perfect through the Atonement of Christ.

How I live my faith

I haven't always been the best at living my faith. In fact I still have days where I wouldn't want my actions reflecting back on the church. The important thing is that I keep trying everyday. I believe that the mistakes you make don't matter near as much as how you handle them. When you drive the Spirit of the Lord from you , what you do to get it back is what really counts. I try my best to smile and be kind to everybody I meet. My wife always tell me how impressed she is that I can talk to anybody whether I know them or have never met them. I rarely miss church, even when I'm dog tired or just ornery. The weekly spiritual recharge by renewing my covenants through partaking of the Sacrament is a very important part of my life. I love sharing my testimony with the saint through participating in Sunday school lessons. I grow so much in the gospel when we teach each of through discussion. I don't make it to the Temple as often as I would like to, but every time I do it lifts my soul up so much. I love attending the Temple with my wife. Sharing in the sacred ordinances there bring us so much closer together and closer to our Heavenly Father than anything else in this world.
