Hi I'm Emily

I love reading and playing the piano, camping, and hiking. I want to get my masters degree in social work. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old and going to college. My major is Human Development, and my goal is to go to graduate school to get my masters in social work or marriage and family therapy. I love reading, my favorite series being Harry Potter. I love painting and drawing. I love camping, hiking, rock climbing, rappelling, basically anything that has to do with the great outdoors. I love working with kids. The biggest thing on my bucket list is to explore the world. So far, I haven't gone any further than Mexico, but it's a work in progress. If I could have any superpower, I would want the power to fly; the ability to feel weightless in the sky and feel the rush of the wind in my face and the warmth of the sun on my skin. If I could have any pet in the world I would like to have a unicorn. Or, if I have to be more realistic, it would be a capybara, as long as I already have my dog. My favorite color is blue. My favorite food is ice cream.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were both raised in this church, and they raised me and my siblings the same way. But that's not the reason I'm still a member. I love this church. I love the way it brings people closer to Christ. No one is perfect, and I am especially far from perfect. But through this church, and through the atonement of Christ, I can always be better. I know that I can repent, and always learn and grow through Him and His teachings. I know how it feels to make a mistake, and I know how it feels when I am able to fully repent and be forgiven of those mistakes. It's such a good feeling, and I want everybody to be able to feel the joy that I have felt in my life. Being Mormon and having the knowledge and standards that I do make me a better person.

How I live my faith

Everyday I try to do all that I can to become the best me that I can be. I read my scriptures and find attributes of Christ and commandments so I can try to be more like Him: the perfect example. As a visiting teacher, I visit some of the other girls in my ward, and help them with anything I can. I try to be a good person to everyone around me, so that I can be a good example of my faith and so I can be someone that others respect.
