Hi I'm Hayden

I will be a missionary for the Church in the Bogota South Mission for two years starting on July 29, 2015.

About Me

I love music! I play violin, viola, piano, sing, ukulele, and guitar. I also love playing soccer, golf, and swimming. I think Lego's are just the coolest thing.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, and I continue to be a part of it because of the testimony I have. By overcoming trials with faith, my testimony has gradually become built up over time. To this day I am trying my hardest to keep growing my testimony with daily prayer and scripture study. I'm grateful for testimonies because I know that they are a means to strengthen testimony.

How I live my faith

I participate in service around town as often as I can. I love the feeling I get when I help somebody in need!

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is added revelation from God that has been revealed to us in these latter days. Around 600 BC, the Lord warned a group of people about oncoming destruction to Jerusalem and helped them to evacuate and find the promised land. The records were abridged by a man named "Mormon" and contain stories that can be likened unto the world today. The Book of Mormon is important in understanding God's purpose today. Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Mormon missionaries proselyte because we want to share our glad message of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ with as many people as possible! Today we know that God still speaks to his children (us) today and that he has appointed a living prophet on the earth today. Through the prophet, God speaks to all the earth and gives us guidance and commandments. Missionaries teach this principle with the Book of Mormon, a book written by ancient prophets in the Americas. The Book of Mormon was brought to light by the hand of God through Joseph Smith, who became the first prophet since the Apostasy of Christ's church almost 2000 years prior. The Book of Mormon teaches us about many ordinances of the true church of Jesus Christ, such as baptism, an essential ordinance that must be performed by a person holding the proper authority. This authority, also called the priesthood, was also restored through Joseph Smith and allows members of the Church to perform saving ordinances for both the living and dead, which is a very hopeful message! Mormon missionaries proselyte to teach these of these principles and the Atonement of Jesus Christ in addition to other things. The Atonement of Jesus Christ makes it possible for anyone to repent and be forgiven of their sins, no matter how far down the wrong path they have gone. Show more Show less
