Hi I'm Jamie

I am a wife, a mother, a grandmother, I love my life and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife of an amazing husband, a mother of 4 children and I have one (very spoiled by grandma) grand baby. All I ever wanted to be was a wife and mother. It brings me more joy than I ever imagined. I have sat through who knows how many soccer games, football games, basketball games, swim meets and dance competitions. I love to read, bake, bike and go on family walks. I love the mountains and picnics, sunrises and sunsets. I was inactive in my church for most of my childhood and teenage years. I married my high school sweetheart. He later converted and became a member of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We were sealed in the temple a year later. It has been a wonderful journey together as we have now been married for 23 years. Life is great! Not without problems and trials but it is a wonderful gift from God.

Why I am a Mormon

As a young child we seldom went to church. I always felt it was the right thing to do but didn't do it. When I did go I loved the feeling I felt there. I went more often as a teenager but not much. A married a person who was not a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a strong Christian. We went to his church together and I was happy to have the Lord in my life but I felt something was missing. I felt a desire to return to church so I told my husband I wanted to attend my church and he said that was fine with him. This started a lot of conversation and soon lead to him talking to the missionaries. He would ask me questions and I was embarrassed that i didn't know the answers. I decided right then and there I needed to pray and ask for ME if the church was true. I had never done that before. I read the Book of Mormon and prayed and prayed and prayed. As I was sitting quietly in my bedroom one night I received my answer. It wasn't a burning, it wasn't a huge big moment that can really be explained. It was a simple calm peace that came over me. I knew I was a daughter of Heavenly Father who had heard and answered my prayer as I prayed to know if He was there. I prayed to know if Joseph Smith was a prophet, if the Book of Mormon was true. I felt peace and confidence and I knew it was my answer. It is true! I knew I had a Savior who loved me enough to die for me and I knew that because of his sacrifice for me I could be forgiven and return to him someday. He has called prophets again to the earth to teach us the things Heavenly Father wants us to know. I believe! Fast forward several years…my conversion has shaped me into who I am today as a wife, mother and individual. Because I know I am His daughter I want to be obedient. When I follow His commandments I am happy. The teachings in the Book of Mormon teach me about my Savior and I love him.

How I live my faith

I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It gives me many opportunities to serve others. I have served the children at my church for many years and I am currently serving as a youth leader with the young women 12-18. I know that when I teach these young women they teach me. They know their Savior loves them. They are strong and able to stand strong in the rough world we live in. It has also blessed my life to serve with other ladies. Some are moms, some are not. Some are married, some are not. Some work, some do not. Some have college degrees, some no college at all. We are all different but we have at least one thing in common... sharing our testimonies with each other of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. Each month I go visit 3 ladies who live in my neighborhood. As I have done this for the past 20+ years great friendships have developed and I love my new friends.
