Hi I'm Steph

I'm single & independent. I love playdates & adventures w/my nieces & nephews! I love biking & hiking. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am one of four in my family. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and enjoyed trips to the beach and camping with my family. My cousins were my first friends and my childhood was filled with wonderful memories of spending time with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. I served a mission to the Illinois Chicago North Mission and spent 7 months at the Great Lakes Naval Base serving among the sailors. I have a business degree and teaching certificate. I am a child and family advocate and teacher for Head Start. I'm grateful to have a job. I started "Tuesday Outings" with my nieces and nephews where I spend 1 on 1 time with each one once a week on Tuesday. It has been so much fun! I'm affectionately called "Aunt Stephy!" Being an Aunt is my most favorite thing and I treasure my time with my "Neephoos." I enjoy cooking, baking, and decorating in my home. I also love taking long bike rides and road trips in the summer.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It's a way of life and it's the way I have lived my life. I love and truly believe that I am a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father, who knows me and my needs. "Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down, unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day." - Alma 37:37 I believe God loves all of his children on earth and wants each of us to become like Him and one day return to His presence. It is through the atoning sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ that it is possible for me to repent, improve and become the daughter of God I meant to become. Through experiences on this earth and in my life, I have come to know that Jesus is the Christ, and Savior of the world. The trials I face are meant to teach me to have faith and trust in Jesus and Heavenly Father. That knowledge brings me peace! One of my favorite scriptures is found in John 14:27 - "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

How I live my faith

I am an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I grew up in the church and was taught by loving parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles how to live a life of service and gratitude. I have had many opportunities to serve and grow among the "Mormon" community. My most favorite calling is that of a Visiting Teacher. I love the opportunity to care for, look after and serve sisters of my faith. It's a great network and a way to serve and be served. I've had many wonderful Visiting Teachers and hope that someday I will be thought of as a wonderful, kind and compassionate Visiting Teacher. Visiting Teaching has taught me to think of others and to look for small ways to provide kind acts of service to those around me, a characteristic that is Christ-like.
