Hi I'm Taylor

I am a big sister! I am preparing to serve a mission in Argentina! I like to smile! And I am a Mormon!

About Me

Hi! My name is Taylor. I am currently preparing to serve a mission in Argentina! I am a student at BYU. I am interested in graphic design and have enjoyed studying art. My family has lived many places but my home will always be beautiful Western Washington. My family is my favorite! We own a 50's diner that my grandparents had before us. We make the best pancakes! It should have it's own reality television show. I enjoy being an active member of our small community.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints, but that's not why I am a Mormon today. Okay yeah, it was largely in part due to the fact that I have righteous and wonderful examples as parents who lead and taught me the things that have helped make me who I am today. But as I grew into my teenage years and later into my early adulthood, I found that I was very much my own person. I discovered that I had to figure what it was I believed, if I wanted to act on it, and what kind of life I wanted to pursue. Thankfully we have a loving, merciful Heavenly Father that when you turn to him for guidance will direct your paths should you choose to listen. Amidst the confusion, the hard times, and sorrow found in this world- the only clarity, happiness, hope, and truth I have found are in the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that it was restored to the earth in these latter days by the prophet Joseph Smith. I know that he translated the Book of Mormon by way of revelation and because of him we are able to have the gospel in its perfect and utter complement. I know that it is another testament of Jesus Christ a long side the Bible. I know The Book of Mormon is the most true book upon the earth today and that through it we can become closer to our Savior than through any other means. We have living prophets and apostles today that give us modern revelation from God, a loving God that still speaks to his children as he did in days of old. I believe that Heavenly Father has a plan for us, a plan of happiness, and that through it and temples we can live with our families forever. I know that Jesus died for us, atoned for the sins of the world, and rose and we might rise again. I am a Mormon because I know the truth for myself. I've studied, questioned, pondered and prayed to know it. It's not theoretical to me or just some nice idea- it's real! It's why I live it!

How I live my faith

I learned that for me, it's the little things. I've decided that the everyday small choices I make are what define who I am and show what I believe. It's writing someone I'm sitting next to friendly note out of the blue. It's apologizing to my siblings when I get frustrated with them and resolving to be a more patient person and a better sister. It's going to church every Sunday and studying my scriptures every night to draw closer to my Heavenly Father. It's taking the time to listen to a coworker's problems and seeing how I could comfort them by sharing my knowledge of the gospel. It's deciding not to watch a popular television show with raunchy jokes and crude language. Living my faith is me trying a little harder every day to be a little better. It's making living a Christ-like life my priority. Who could I reach out to? What could I improve in myself? What are my goals? Is what am doing right now bringing me closer to my Savior and Heavenly Father? I've learned that living my faith is messing up, not losing hope, and trying again. I've learned that I am not perfect but that I can be through my Savior, Jesus Christ. He will take my best efforts, as meager as they sometimes seem, and he will make up the rest.
