Hi I'm Sarah

I'm loud and could listen to music all day. I love being outside, playing sports and my guitar. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the third out of four children in my family. As a family, we love to play card games and go on vacations together. Some of my favorite places we have visited are the National Parks, (Zions, Arches, and Yosemite) Ireland, and Hawaii. I love spending time with my family. We have lived in Utah my whole life and I am currently attending Brigham Young University. I grew up playing soccer and then found how much I love to run cross country my junior year in high school. Growing up, my family nickname was "the spaz." I'm up for any kind of crazy adventure. Right now I'm making plans to go sky diving with my dad and brother and can't wait. However, I have a soft side when it comes to the Arts. I find myself attending numerous music performances, art museums, and studying photographs. Especially with music, I love how it can fit any personality or mood. I dreamed of becoming a singer but adjusted my goals when I damaged my vocal chords in high school. Now I spend my time studying American Sign Language and am working to be an interpreter. I still love to sing in my spare time as I practice the guitar.

Why I am a Mormon

All of my family members are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, so I have always had the church in my life. My mom was converted at the age of nineteen. I remember her telling me why she decided to listen to the missionary lessons, which then led to her baptism. She described how she would immediately feel comforted and happy while learning about the church. I too feel this simple comfort and happiness when I follow the Lord's Gospel. The Church is the keystone to my life. It answers all of my questions from a simple, "why do I feel sad," to, "what is the purpose of living on earth?" I know I can turn to the comfort of my Heavenly Father to help me learn and become a better person every day. I have learned that we are given trials to learn, grow stronger and grow closer to our Heavenly Father. He has blessed us with the opportunity to repent for the mistakes we make throughout our life. I am grateful for the opportunity to be forgiven of sins, or mistakes, I have made and will make. I know without a doubt that the Book of Mormon and all its teachings are true. I'm thankful for prayer and the personal relationship I have with my Heavenly Father because of it. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith with dedication. Being a Mormon allows me to devote all aspects of my life to our church. This includes daily prayer and scripture study, respect towards others and obedience to the church's standards. Following the guidelines set by our Church helps me become a better person. I have the opportunity to hold a calling in my church that helps me work with fellow church members and check up on the women in our neighborhood, get to know them better, and share spiritual thoughts with them. This calling helps me make new friends and provides opportunities where I can serve others. Right now I am working to serve a full-time mission for our church. For 18 months, I will go out and preach the Gospel of Christ. It is an amazing time to help individuals learn of our Heavenly Father's love and plan for them. I cannot wait to find out where I will be serving (our assignment can be almost anywhere in the world) because I know and feel my Heavenly Father's love and want every one else to know this too.
