Hi I'm J.R.

I live in central Florida. I'm a college student. I can play a lot of instruments. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My real name is Jesrael Rodriguez. I'm the oldest of 3 brothers. Tennis is my all-time favorite sport. Some of my hobbies include playing piano, guitar, photography, and video editing. I have an interest in media/visual arts. I am attending college to pursue a career in medicine.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this is Christ's true church that's been restored to the Earth. I can testify of this because I have felt the Holy Ghost confirm to me of its truthfulness. After re-reading and studying the Book of Mormon, I can see how powerful its words can have an effect on me. I obey the commandments because I know God wants me to be protected from the turmoil and uncertainty in the world. By continuing in the faith and enduring to the end, I can live life to the fullest. What I love the most about this church is that families can be together, forever. Having the gospel in our home brings my family closer together. I know that after our mortal life on earth, we will return back to our Father's presence and have everlasting joy.

How I live my faith

Being a member of this church has taught me the importance of service and self-sacrifice. I'm glad to have been a part of the church's youth group which gave us many opportunities to do service for the community. Although there are times when I don't have the motivation to do service, it's a humbling experience knowing that I helped someone who was in need. Pretty soon, I will be giving up 2 years of my life for the greatest service project I've ever done; to serve a full-time mission in Quezon City (North), Philippines. It will be difficult to leave my family and friends, but I know I'll be fulfilling a greater purpose--to spread the greatest message of hope to people, that the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the world. I am very excited to see what my Father in Heaven has in store for me there. He is a loving God who really does bless us in return for all our labors.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is a compilation all the records and teachings by the prophets in the ancient Americas. The prophets were commanded by God keep a record of their teachings and testaments regarding Jesus Christ, that it may serve as a guide for future generations. Mormon, who is one of the last of these prophets, abridged all of the records from the previous authors, thus, emerged "The Book of Mormon." Joseph Smith, with the power and guidance of God, translated the ancient record that we may read it in our time. The Book of Mormon is available in almost every language. Today, the word of God is being spread worldwide. Show more Show less
