Hi I'm Melissa Clayton

I ride a Harley, am a Realtor, and I am luck enough to be married to my best friend and eternal partner. I am a Mormon.

About Me

We have adult kids and 3 grandchildren and numerous adopted kids and grandkids who I love dearly. My husband and I ride Harleys and work at the temple each Saturday. I have been a Realtor for 29 years. I love to garden and spend time with the critters and just be at home.

Why I am a Mormon

I was not a member until I was in my 30's so I have lived without the gospel for most of my life. I always knew and loved Jesus Christ but I did not have much knowledge beyond that. I had an accident that caused me much reflection and a need to know the truth, I HAD to know. I knew that something was missing in my life and I needed to find out what it was. I always searched for the gospel but did not find it. Once I read the Book of Mormon, I knew I found what I was looking for. I knew what I read was true. I felt a warm peaceful feeling. That was the Holy Ghost teaching me and guiding me home. I try and live each day in a way that I can keep that feeling with me as much as possible, which is sometimes hard in this crazy world that we live in. I love the scriptures now. I read them every morning. My day is not the same if I don't. I am just out of sorts. I love this church and I hope that you will too.

How I live my faith

My husband and I work at the Temple every Saturday. We have been doing this 3 1/2 years and I love it. I also am the President of the Women's auxiliary at church where we serve all the ladies and families in our boundaries and the surrounding areas. We respond to family emergencies and try to relieve the burdens of each other, members an non members alike. We teach Gospel Truths every Sunday and we also have weeknight meetings once a month to provide encouragement and learn and grow in the Gospel. We also have other sisters we are assigned to visit each month and share a gospel message and assist them in any way we can. This is called Visiting Teaching. Ladies become very close to each other through service and love to each other. I am so grateful to have the true gospel in my life. I have been richly blessed as I have served and learned.

What is the Relief Society?

Melissa Clayton
The Relief Society is the oldest and largest women's organization in the world. Relief Society was established in 1842 for women 18 years of age and older. Its purpose is to build faith and personal righteousness, strengthen families and homes, and help those in need. I am currently the Relief Society President in our Ward, or area. We try and assist, serve and love all the women in our ward whether they are a member of our church or not. We try and help those in need. We share the gospel with each other to help and strengthen each other and our families. Show more Show less
