Hi I'm Amy Jamison

I grew up in Orem, Utah. I am studying flute performance in college. I love hiking and family time. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student studying flute performance in college. I love music and play flute, piccolo, saxophone, clarinet, piano, and some other less known instruments such as Irish flute and penny whistle. I have been very blessed in my musical endeavors. I've played in a concert in Carnegie hall, and also played on the PianoGuys CD. I love the outdoors, especially hiking or even just being outside on a nice day. I enjoy horseback riding and have been riding horses since I was little. I also love animals and have had a lot of pets through the years. I like reading and writing. I love spending time with friends and family, whose company I enjoy very much. I have one sister and my parents in my immediate family and we have a lot of fun together. I am also very close with my extended family, and we do a lot of things with them as well. They are all great examples to me in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have had the LDS Church in my life for my whole life. I was raised to be obedient to God's commandments, and this has been a huge blessing in my life and helped me to be so much happier and more successful. I am Mormon because I believe in my Savior Jesus Christ and know that the restored truths of the gospel are the way to follow and return to live with Him and my Heavenly Father. I know that my Savior lives, that He died for me, and suffered for my sins and felt my pains and sorrows. I know that when I pray, someone who has felt what I feel and understands where I am is there to help me. As I come to Him, I feel happier and things go better. When I pray for help I receive the help I need. It is also a comfort in things like school and performing--if I know I've done everything I can to prepare, I know that when I pray to Heavenly Father He will help me to do my best or even better. When I have been in my greatest trials, I have often seen the greatest love from my Heavenly Father and my Savior. We all go through good times and hard times in this life whether we are doing what's right or not. I know that by trying to follow the example of my Savior Jesus Christ, my good times have been better and more frequent and my hard times have been easier to handle, get past, and grow from. I have read the Book of Mormon several times, and I know that the words there are good and true and help me to live a better life. When I am truly focused on my scripture reading I feel peace and comfort as I study and think about the words. Though the scriptures are from a time long before my own, I have seen many applications in my own life. They were seeking to follow the Savior just as I am, and their examples help me to follow the Savior better. I love my Heavenly Father and my Savior and am blessed to feel the Spirit often. Why am I Mormon? Because living this gospel is the happiest way to live, and it brings me joy and confidence because I know the Lord lives and will help me.

How I live my faith

I am happy to serve in my church. When I was in the organization for the young women in the church, I served as a secretary and a counselor to the president of my age group several times. I helped keep track of who was there so that we could see if there was anyone who was not coming much. For those who didn't come we would set up a way to contact them and see how they were. I also am serving as a visiting teacher, which means I go to visit some of the other women in my ward to make sure they are doing all right and share a spiritual thought with them. If they need help with something that I can help them with I will. I also live my faith when I treat others with kindness and love, like Christ did. Any service I do for others, even as simple as writing a nice note or text, helping someone who's carrying a lot of things, trying to uplift a friend who is going through a hard time, or making treats for someone else is living my faith. I also show my faith when I obey God's commandments, and I know that I have been very blessed for my obedience. My life is happier and better when I live my faith.
