Hi I'm Ashley

Raised in Utah and currently serving a mission in Western New York. I LOVE to laugh! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised by two amazing parents in a small town near Salt Lake City for all of my life. Growing up soccer, singing, and spending time with my family and friends are what would make me happiest. I played soccer since the age of 6 and those years of playing are some of my favorite memories! I loved to sing as well. Although I am not the best at it, singing is something that has always made me happy, especially when it was singing with my brothers and sisters. Most of all my family, friends, and Jesus Christ are what has molded and shaped me into the person I have become. Without those 3 I would not be who I am today, and it is for that reason that I have chosen to set aside a year and a half of my life dedicated to serving the Lord full time! I love being a missionary and I love watching people come closer to Christ. He has done everything for me, so serving a mission is the least that I can do for Him!

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Simply because I know that it's true. I know that Jesus Christ established a church while he was here on the earth, and after centuries of being lost, It was brought back by a loving God through a living prophet named Joseph Smith! God called him to restore Christ's church back on the earth. How great is that?! Having a knowledge that we have a living prophet on the earth today has given me so much peace and comfort. I know that God loves all of his children and he wants us to find a way back to him. So how do I know that this church is true? Not by my parents telling me, or leaders, or friends, but by reading the Book of Mormon, pondering the message it contains, and then getting down on my knees and asking God for myself. That is the only way anyone can ever know! I did just that and have received a witness by the power of the Holy Ghost that it is true. Being a Mormon gives me peace, because through studying the Book of Mormon, I have been able to understand exactly where I came from, why I am here, and where I am going. Life's greatest questions can be answered in that book and in Jesus Christ's gospel. And if it really is true, then what else matters?

How I live my faith

Serving a mission has been a big step of living my faith. Leaving home and family for 18 months and giving up all your time and energy to serving the Lord is something that is not easy. It really will test your faith at times. But being out here has made me realize that I don't want to live my life any other way. Living for Jesus Christ is the only way to live! Serving a mission has given me a total different perspective on life. It has helped me to understand what is most important. Doing the small and simple things everyday are what will bring us the most happiness. Things like praying to Heavenly Father, reading from the scriptures, and serving those around you are things that will bring true lasting happiness, because they make us more like Jesus Christ! Living my faith has not always been easy. It requires sacrifice! I study and read from the scriptures everyday, and am constantly on my knees praying to God. I am always trying to feel my life with things that are good. There are so many things that the world has told us are acceptable, but God has not. I want to fill my life with things that will allow His spirit to be present. Living the gospel may require effort, but it is worth it if it is helping me to become more like Him.
