Hi I'm Taylor Porritt

I grew up in the Minnesota and I love camping and hiking! Oh...and I am a Mormon! :)

About Me

Hi my name is Taylor Porritt. I am 21 years old and I am a Mormon. I know most of the people who are looking at my profile most likely are not LDS. So I want to share my conversion story. The time in my life where I truly became converted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint.

Why I am a Mormon

Back when I was 17 or 18 years old. I was at a very dark place in my life. I was trying to find answers for me and who I wanted to become. I was at my own personal “rock bottom”. I was at a point that I was unable to go any farther down. I recalled one day that I had not prayed sincerely in a very long time. I think I was more afraid of what my Heavenly Father would think of me. But then the idea hit me, “He already knows everything! He knows my thoughts, my actions and what will happen.” At that moment I threw my arms in the air and cried, saying, “I can't do this without you, I need you.” I remember falling to the ground and feeling all of my pains be lifted out of me. I felt as though I was able to breathe. I knew at that moment, there was a God. I knew he loved me and I knew that my beliefs were real. I want you all too know that you can find out the truth for yourself. This gospel saved me. I know that the Savior will lift you up as he did for me, through His atonement. I know that ever since that moment of being humbled by my Heavenly Father, in the moments that would be rock bottom I never hit the floor because my Savior was carrying me. I know that though his love and mercy and just self, we will become polished into whomever we are supposed to become no matter our age. I know that I will be married to my husband for all time and all eternity. I know all of this to be true and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

Mainly through service. There are many different activities. But the group of people that come together is so exhilarating.
