Hi I'm Scott

I am a student, musician, and athlete. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a student studying anthropology. I also am super interested in politics, and enjoy writing about them. I play ultimate as much as I can, and enjoy other sports such as basketball and football. The main thing I love to do with my time, though, is play music. I have been drumming since I was in fourth grade, but also play the vibes and piano (and a little mandolin). I love to compose, and some of my inspirations include the Punch Brothers, Vampire Weekend, and Two Door Cinema Club. Jazz music is also another one of my favorites. My favorite jazz artists include Thelonius Monk and Charles Mingus. Obviously, being a Mormon is another big part of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

To put it simply: I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. I know that the principles of this Church are true and correct, and that following them helps me feel joy. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet, and that he restored Christ's complete church to the earth. I know that Christ's Atonement makes it possible for us to repent and be healed of pain and illness. My testimony means a lot to me because it gives me a purpose in life. I know I am a son of God, and I know the path I should follow, the life I should live. This knowledge is very comforting, and leads to great peace.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday. I pray and read scriptures, and try to follow the principles I have been taught. I home teach every month, which means I pay a visit to a handful of members every month to talk about the gospel, help them, and just talk about life.

Who chooses the Mormon prophet?

The choosing of the next prophet of the church is directed by the head of our church, Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
