Hi I'm Matthew

I am from the Dallas Texas area. I served a two year mission for this church in Argentina from the years 2011-2013.

About Me

I am an every day college student going to school in Idaho. I love to be outside and enjoy doing things like snowboarding, hiking, playing football, basketball, and basically anything active. In my mind I am an avid jogger, but I don't run as much as I would like. I am the oldest of 5 kids and I have 3 brothers and a younger sister. My parents are divorced and my brothers live with my mom and my sister lives with my dad.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is what I have come to believe and know is true. While I was raised a member of my church there are members of my family who have distanced themselves from the church. I have made the choice individually to follow the Savior in the way that I believe He would have me do if He were here on the earth. In my teenage years my family passed through some difficult trials and I had to decide whether or not I was going to continue going to church or stop going. I was looking for a source of peace and comfort from God and I wanted to know where to find that peace. After a long time of study, prayer, and trying to find God I felt in my heart by the power of God that I would soon find the peace and guidance that I needed in the Mormon faith. To this day I cannot deny that spiritual confirmation and will continue to thank God for this revelation by serving Him in his church.

How I live my faith

I like my faith simply by asking myself what the Savior would do. In some opportunities that I have had to serve within the church I have worked with the youth programs and served in leadership positions while in the youth program myself. I was a secretary for the church congregation where I lived in Texas who was in charge of the members moving in and out of the boundaries of the congregation. I served as a missionary and representative of the church in Argentina. I went door to door and taught families as well as individuals about Jesus Christ; this was the most rewarding experience of my life thus far. Currently I am in charge of a student group at the university where I attend.
