Hi I'm Taylor

I'm a college student, a long boarder, a novice chef, and a future missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at age 11 with my mom and step-dad. It was the best decision of my life. I go to Brigham Young University and I study Physiology. I have my mission call to the Chile Concepción Mission--I enter the Mexico MTC on October 8th, 2014! Two of my favorite people in the world are my 8 year old sister and my 5 year old brother; my family is very important to me. I love how family oriented the LDS faith is. For fun, I like to go hiking, long boarding, and play my flute and ukulele. I teach Anatomy to 5th graders part-time, while going to school full-time. My dream is to travel the world when I'm older! I hope to one day empower women and children in oppressed countries by encouraging and helping to provide a way for them to obtain the education they deserve. Oh, and food is my passion--I love to cook and I live to eat.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know the Church is true! I decided to convert when I first received confirmation of this. My family was always very religious, but we started realizing that something was missing in the Christian church we were attending. We started to search for the truth. We prayed to find an answer and we started thinking about speaking with the Mormon missionaries. My mother had been friends with a lot of LDS kids growing up and we were noticing that these LDS men and women were now all the people that had happy marriages and families, successful careers, and generally, just a great outlook on life! We decided had a certain happiness about them, and we were interested. Well, we chased down the missionaries a few weeks later--literally chased them down-- they skipped our house when they were knocking on doors in our neighborhood and we went running after them asking for a Book of Mormon. A few months later we were all baptized. Life definitely hasn't been easy since we've joined the church. In fact, we've gone through several serious trials, including major illness, financial hardships, and huge trials of faith; but we have had the help of our Heavenly Father through them all, and that has made all of the difference in my life. I am a Mormon because I cannot make it through this life alone--I need the guidance of my Heavenly Father and the redemptive grace of my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon, because the LDS church is the only church on the earth today that is lead and directed by true prophets of God--there is a certain peace in knowing that we will never be lead astray if we follow the sustained leaders of our church. I am a Mormon because I know the Book of Mormon is the most true book on the Earth. I am a Mormon because I know families can be together forever and that true love doesn't have to end after this life. I am a Mormon because I know Heavenly Father has a job and a plan for me. I am a Mormon--I know it; I live it; I love it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by studying the teachings of Jesus Christ. My favorite ways to do this are through studying the scriptures, notably the Book of Mormon, and by following the teachings of the Latter-day prophets. I love the reassurance of God's love I constantly receive when I devote time to learning about the Gospel. I also live my faith by fulfilling my calling in the Church. I am the Activities Co-chair in my Single's Ward-- it is the most fun calling of all! I get to plan activities and parties for 150 young adults on a monthly basis. I live my faith by attending church every Sunday. I take the Sacrament to grow closer to the Savior, and then attend Sunday School and Relief Society, a lesson time for the women in the church, to gain a further understanding of the Gospel and to feel the Spirit. I live my faith by striving to stand as a witness of God at all times and in all places. I do my best to choose the right and stay on the path that I know my Heavenly Father wants me to be on.
