Hi I'm Meredith

I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. I am a full time student and Sign Language Interpreter. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I are both from Utah, but are currently living in Kansas while my husband attends Law School. I am a certified Sign Language Interpreter and work for a local school district. I recently decided to go back to school and am working towards a degree in Speech-Language Pathology. I love to play games, spend time with friends and family, read, and attempt to be crafty. When possible, my husband and I love to travel.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS (Mormon) family. I was taught the gospel of Jesus Christ from a young age. As I got older- specifically into my teenage years- I decided I didn't want to live a certain lifestyle or believe a certain way just because my parents did or wanted me to. I decided that I needed to focus on finding out for myself if what I had been taught my whole life was something I truly believed in. I put forth time into really pondering what I'd been taught, reading the scriptures, and most importantly, praying to my Heavenly Father asking for truth to be made known to me. I received answers to my prayers and learned for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ's true church on the earth today. The Gospel of Jesus Christ brings hope, and obeying the commandments and living standards set forth by our prophet, apostles, and the example of Jesus Christ brings happiness. This knowledge lead me to the decision to serve a full time mission. During the 18 months I served as a missionary, my faith was strengthened as I saw the gospel change lives. I witnessed the love that Heavenly Father has for each and every one of His children. I know that He wants us to have joy in this life, and to ultimately be with our families forever.

How I live my faith

I currently work in the Young Women's program in my ward. I am the Laurel advisor (working with girls ages 16-18), and I absolutely LOVE the opportunity to get to know them better, teach them, and learn more about them.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Yes! We believe that Jesus Christ is the literal Son of God. When Christ was born, he spent his life serving others and setting a perfect example for how we should live our lives. Jesus Christ showed his immense love for us by suffering for our sins, pains, and sorrows in the Garden of Gethsemane. He gave his life on the cross as part of his atonement for us. Because of this, if we repent of our wrong-doings and always try to live the best we can, we can be forgiven for our sins because Jesus Christ has already paid the price. Three days after his death, Jesus Christ was resurrected. We too, will all be resurrected one day because of this. Show more Show less
