Hi I'm Daken

I was born and raised in Logan Utah and then moved to Idaho when I was 10. I love to golf, fish, and camp. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well I love to golf and played for three years on the High School Team. I am currently wating to serve my mission in Mexico. I work in a restaurant as a prep cook. I plan on attending Utah State University when I get home from my mission. I want to be an anesthesiologist when I grow up. I have a Pomeranian and a Chihuahua, both purebreds. I love to ski, fish, hike, camp, cook, and eat food. I want to go to Culinary School and learn how to be a chef. I guess you could say I'm an amateur foodie. I love to snowmobile and ride my dirtbike. I don't like to read too much because I'm too busy watching movies. I could watch movies all day long.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the LDS church and always loved attending my Sunday meetings. I was pretty valiant in the church until I was about 14 years old. I got caught up in some things that I knew were wrong but I did them anyway. It wasn't until my 18th birthday that I had enough courage to tell my bishop my sins. I tried little as possible to do anything church related during those few years cause I felt like I didn't deserve to do them. It took over a year to overcome my sins but I know that through Jesus Christ's Atonement, I was washed clean of my sins. I am so much happier knowing that Christ has forgotten about my shortcomings and I will be able to return to live with him in the Celestial Kingdom. I have chosen to be a member of the LDS church because of the joy it brings to my life. Reading the Book of Mormon every night and praying to a loving Heavenly Father helps build my testimony of this restored gospel. Joseph Smith restored this gospel to the Earth today through Jesus Christ. He translated the Book of Mormon thorugh the power of God. He was the first prophet in this dispensation. The Book of Mormon is real and there is no way Joseph Smith could have made it up. We have a living prophet today, Thomas S. Monson, and he guides this church through revelation from Christ. The Twelve Apostles are also seers and revelators here to guide us to safety and happiness. Following God's commandments and the Word of Wisdom is what brings us joy. I know that when we die, we will be resurected and be given perfect bodies to live with our familes for eternity.

How I live my faith

I have a calling in the LDS church. I serve in the Nursery. After sacrament meeting, any child between the ages of 18 months and 3 years old comes to Nursery. I, along with another couple, take care of these kids while the parents go to their classes. We play with them and color and have snack and singing time. These children give me my exercise for the week and make me happy. I also go hometeaching. I have a partner and we visit two families each month and give them a short message about the gospel and take of any needs they may have for us, which they usually don't, but that's part of our duty as hometeachers.
