Hi I'm David Enciso

I grew up in Utah. I am a brother. I am a missionary. I play soccer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is David and I am the oldest of 2 kids. My younger brother is my best friend and is serving a mission in the Brazil Recife Mission. Both of my parents served their missions in Lima, Peru. I am currently serving a mission in the California Long Beach Mission and I served one year of my mission in the Chile Santiago East Mission. I love to play soccer, listen to music, hang out with friends and share the gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone I can. I have lived in Utah my whole life but I have visited most of the states in the United States as well as visited 3 countries in South America. I am an all-state athlete in soccer and love to play anywhere I can. I'm putting soccer on hold for a while to serve a mission because the gospel is probably the only thing, besides my family, that brings me more happiness than soccer. The gospel of Jesus Christ has saved my family and given me so much hope.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into the church, I didn't always have my own testimony of it. As is common among young members of the church, I depended mostly on the testimony of my parents. I don't think really gained my own testimony of the church until after I had graduated from high school. I took the decision to read The Book of Mormon from cover to cover for the first time in my life. After doing so I was able to pray about what I had read and I received an undeniable answer from the Holy Ghost that The Book of Mormon and the church were true. Because of that testimony I was able to better prepare myself for a full-time mission and to make covenants with my Heavenly Father in his holy house, the temple. My testimony of the Book of Mormon is the thing that keeps me going each and every day. And everyday my testimony grows. Because of that testimony I know what things I need to do to have true happiness. I am a Mormon because it makes me happy!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by keeping the first two great commandments, which are to love God and to love my neighbor. Because I love God and his children I have left my family 3 times to serve a mission. I have had to be sent home twice during my missionary service to have surgeries on my knees. I have come back out to the mission field every time because I know that by being a missionary and sharing the gospel with everyone around me, that the Lord can bring lasting happiness into their lives just as he has brought that happiness into mine.
