Hi I'm Scott

I grew up in Oregon and California. I sold computer systems to automobiles before I retired in 2013. I am a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I enjoy playing golf together, going to a movie (good ones are hard to find), live theater performances. We like to cruise and last year we went to the Virgin Islands and Alaska.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother was the first to become a Mormon. I did not know that she was investigating the church. After her baptism she sent two missionaries to my front door. When I opened the door there they stood in their white shirts and name tags. They told me that my mother had been baptized and that she had sent them to me. My first thought was what cult had my mother joined. I knew nothing of the Mormon Church. My 2nd thought was I better find out if I was going to have a member in our family. My wife and I agreed to take the discussions. When they came to the discussion regarding the God head and said that God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit were three distinct and separate personages I knew that to be true. I could feel the Holy Spirit testify to me. I continued to read and pray about the principles of the church and as I did I kept receiving confirmations that it was true. So on November 26, 1971 my wife and I were baptized. Since then my brother, 2 sisters, father, step-mother, step-father and mother have all converted. How grateful I am for knowledge I have received of the restored gospel and the plan of salvation.

How I live my faith

I have held several callings or positions in my ward. Currently I am 2nd Councilor in our Sunday School presidency and teach a class to beginners on genealogy. I enjoy hometeaching. I am assigned 5 families to visit every month. I have several families that I have visited every month for the past 12 years. This has developed into wonderful friendships over the years. We have traveled together, played golf, gone to the movies and theater, and wept together when tragedy as struck.
