Hi I'm Steven

I'm a Texan with a passion for religion and playing the cello. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Playing the cello has been my ambition since 5th grade. I have worked it all the way up to the All-State level with the help of many people. Getting through high school with a high GPA is also one of my goals. I'm getting close to graduating and heading to my mission in South America. I'm excited to serve the Lord.

Why I am a Mormon

I attend The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I know that there is only one path the Lord has asked us to follow. The confusion of religion in the world today, which was created by man, is not what God intended for us. He has restored the truth to us, and everything we need to follow has a set plan. We must understand his will and our purpose, and this church as helped me accomplish such things.

How I live my faith

Reading the scriptures everyday is a MUST. Prayer is also just as important because it ties in with asking for the Spirit while you read those scriptures to understand the truth of them. Attending seminary (scripture study class) at 6AM has been rough, but worth it (lucky Utah people with it being part of their school! haha). I strive to live the commandments to be worthy in the presence of the Lord at all times. You never know when Christ will come again, just be ready because he will.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Steven
Everyone inevitably sins. It is sad but true. I try everyday to hold back any temptation I have to sin. It is not a restriction I put on myself but rather a safe guard. The actual restriction comes from the bondage of sin. Thankfully though, Jesus Christ, who was the only perfect sacrifice worthy to pay the price for our sins, went through the atonement. We need the atonement to purify ourselves because without it no unclean thing can enter into the presence of God. We need that purification, and Christ is the only one able to offer us salvation.
