Hi I'm Derick

I grew up in Pocatello, Idaho. My favorite things to do are snowboarding, hunting, and riding dirt bikes. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the church. I am part of a family of six. I am the oldest. I have lived in Pocatello my whole life. I love to go snowboarding, hunting, and ride dirt bikes with my family. I played baseball in high school. I graduated in the top 10% of my class. I spend a lot of time with my dad because I worked for him. We did excavation and got to play in the dirt and hot sun everyday all day. He taught me to work hard. I'm am serving a mission in Johannesburg South Africa.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member all my life so I don't have a cool conversion story but I do have a reason why I am a Mormon. That reason is my testimony. My testimony or what I know is true has grown over time. I haven't had a huge event that has made me know this church is true. Over time little light bulbs have popped into my head that have built into a mountain of testimony that can't be shaken. A perfect place to start is by reading the Book of Mormon. I know this church is true. The reason why I'm a Mormon is because I have a testimony that it is true and I love this gospel with all my heart.

How I live my faith

I have been a member all my life and I don't know where I would be without it. I go to church every Sunday and partake of the sacrament. I love to feel the spirit and expand my knowledge of the gospel. I study my scriptures daily and I testify that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that our Heavenly Father speaks to us through the scriptures. I pray daily and I know that Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers. I've been through the temple and it is such an amazing place I love going. I hope more and more people will except the joy of the gospel. I have left my family for two years on a mission because I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church of God and I want to share the joy that is brings to me.
