Hi I'm Clarinis Purcell

I'm a proud Samoan, ping-pong swatter, Polynesian tribal artist, and the one with the loudest family in the football stands!

About Me

I'm originally from Honolulu, Hawaii on the precious island of Oahu, but now live in the glorious mountains of Utah. I'm a proud Samoan with a German last name. Heavenly Father has blessed me with a solid support system. You might call them first, second or third cousins, but I call them my brothers and sisters. I'm the second to the youngest of 7 siblings; 3 brothers and 4 sisters including myself. 5 of which are married and then it's me and my younger brother who's still in high school. I'm an aunty to 11 nieces and nephews: 7 boys and 4 girls. I enjoy polynesian dancing and creating tribal art. Country is God's greatest gift to mankind. I deeply enjoy jam sessions with my family. I love to eat! My parents are the greatest chefs on my block so whenever you're hungry, just bring yourself and an empty stomach because knowing my parents, they'll pick up random people off the street and give them a banquet. (Poor elders- we feed them way too much). I'm an avid parkour enthusiast and volleyball player. I love to conquer at nerf gun battles. I'm bilingual in English & ASL and I want to major in Graphic & Web Design. I graduated Provo High School in 2013 and attended BYU-Provo soon after. I believe that polynesians make the best yell-leaders when it comes to sports. I'm currently serving a mission in Omaha, Nebraska and am loving it, but for the most part, I just try to live a little each day and serve the Lord the best I can.

Why I am a Mormon

Through constant effort of prayer and fasting, I've come to know the following - we have a loving Heavenly Father who is aware of His children and their needs and wants them to succeed and grow, and that Jesus Christ is His son. He sacrificed His life and paid the price for our sins that we could repent and return to live with God again. I can know the truth of all things for myself through the confirming power of the Holy Ghost and I don't have to take anyone's word for it. It's for these reasons (among countless others) that I live the Gospel of Jesus Christ and want to share it with others. I can say that I know for a fact that His church is the most true church on this earth. I may have been brought up Mormon but I can say for myself that it is Christ' true church restored on this earth again. I have a strong testimony of eternal families and I know that God has a plan for each and every one of His children. Because of this gospel, my future family will be sealed for eternity, and for that I'm truly grateful.

How I live my faith

When I look at a person, I see the love God has for them radiating from their hearts and I can't help but love them too. God cannot be everywhere but I try to be His hands and lift and inspire His children in this world. That's why I'm serving a full-time 18 month mission in Omaha, Nebraska. It is to bring the message of Jesus Christ to those I love and I strive to live my life in accordance to our Savior Jesus Christ. Just as Christ teaches us in Luke 9:23, if we believe in Christ, we should "deny ourselves and take up his cross daily and follow him." We all have a knowledge of God's infinite love for each and every one of us, but I think the key to living our faith is by showing that same love back towards God in the charity we have around us. I know that I, myself, am not perfect and that I fall short every day, but I know for a fact that I can be perfected through Him, our Savior Jesus Christ. And this knowledge is what keeps me continually hopeful in the world we live in today. The little things such as personal prayer, church attendance and scripture study, have set the foundation to the life I live today and the person I will be forever throughout eternity.
