Hi I'm Darrell

I grew up in Arizona. I drove a truck. I attended Brigham Young University. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Arizona. Through high School. worked on a farm while i was growing up raising watermelons, and cantelope and hay. I went off to Brigham Young University for a year before serving a full time mission in Central America for 2 1/2 years. Upon returning I went 3 more years to BYU before being drafted into the army where I served as a cannon sergeant in Vietnam. There I was wounded. I returned home to finish college, became a teacher. After teaching a year, I went back to get my masters degree. Then I decided to farm for my uncle for 4 years in southern Arizona. I then went to Oklahoma where I worked in carpentry, and taught industrial arts for 2 more years. I joined ALWilliams company and then moved to Idaho and Texas to set up offices. After 20 years, I decided to work for the post office as a mechanic on their machines (MPE). At age 66 I retired and served a full time mission in Chile with my wife for a year and a half. Upon arriving home, we were called on another mission in Texas to work with the hispanic people. Then we moved to Utah and after a year and a half have decided to go on another mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I have studied the Mormon religion and have prayed about it and it seems to fill all my needs. I know it is the true church.

How I live my faith

I presently serve in my ward church as assistant high priest group leader, where I organize home teaching visits for 90 families. I enjoy gardening and delivering produce to my neighbors, also cooking and sharing homemade bread and navajo tacos and cookies. This brings a lot of pleasure to me. I enjoy woodworking and turning bowls on the lathe and spend many hours doing so.

What is faith?

While attending church service one Sunday, I felt prompted by the holy ghost that me and my wife should serve another mission. So I put in papers to go and we were called to the Florida Tallahassee Mission. Show more Show less
