Hi I'm Manuel

I love media. I play Rock n' Roll music. On April 2014, I'll be serving in the Mexico Merida Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm from a small place in Oregon called Hermiston. I love media in all it's various forms. I love the storytelling that comes from movies, video games, and books. I'm very passionate about my music. I love to perform and find listening to music for the sake of listening to be very important in discovering one's own taste as well as learning more about music that is interesting to one's self. In my music, I love to go beyond the conventional and mainstream and finding those gems. Throughout High School, I did trombone in band. Jazz was my personal favorite. I also played rhythm guitar and sang in my own rock band as well. Overall, my main hobbies involve media, with music and movies being my favorites.

Why I am a Mormon

I come from an interesting background. My mother is LDS and my father is Catholic. Growing up, I experienced plenty from both faiths from attending mass with my father and sacrament meeting with my mother. Over the course of my life, my mother was so diligent in teaching me the gospel and helping me grow closer to Jesus Christ. It's been a struggle in regards to the differing religions because my father does not understand everything about the church and has often been opposed to many aspects. It's because of this that I wasn't given permission to be baptized until I was 14, but doing so strengthened my faith because I could have just given up and stopped praying and fasting that one day I could be baptized, but it happened and I know that the Lord's hand was in it the whole time, especially in regards to the ease of which permission was granted. I knew in my heart that this was truly the Lord's restored church and that His hand was in everything and that it was important to be baptized a member of this church. I love this gospel so much. I know that if we truly have faith and rely on the Lord, we will be strengthened. I know that we can have the peace, comfort, and happiness that we desire in life if we humble ourselves and embrace the restored gospel. I know that through Christ's atonement, we can be completely be forgiven of our sins if we humbly come to Him and sincerely repent. I know that families are eternal and how central they are to God's plan for His children to be happy and to return to His presence. I know without a doubt in my heart that Jesus Christ, my redeemer and yours, lives and that His gospel has been restored as well as His priesthood. I love this church with all my heart and I've felt the truthfulness and the happiness it brings.

How I live my faith

Some of the things I do in regards to living my faith are teaching. I am currently an instructor right now and delight in preparing my lessons as I find that not only am I preparing myself to instruct in a way that will be understood and hopefully inspire those I teach, I also am inspiring myself and learning more about the Lord's will. I also participate by translating our weekly worship service from english to spanish for our spanish speaking members. I am also preparing to serve a mission and have been called to serve in the Mexico Merida Mission.
