Hi I'm Adam Jacobson

I grew up in Utah. I am a missionary in Taiwan, I love it. And I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am currently a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am serving in the Taiwan Taipei mission. I get to share the message of a loving Heavenly Father everyday with my brothers and sisters in this amazing country. I love eating, swimming, movies, music, hiking, boating, and much more. One of my hobbies is stop motion film making.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. So, I have had the blessings and knowledge that come from this gosple from my youth. Even though I have been a member my whole life I do have a testimony of the truthfulness of this church. I know that families can be together forever. I know that my Father in Heaven loves me and every other person on this earth with a love that is too great for our mortal minds to comprehend. I know that the Savior, Jesus Christ, came to earth and lived a perfect life and that he preformed the atonement for me individually. I know that he willingly took my pains and sins and infirmities of every kind upon himself because he loves me. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that he did translate the Book of Mormon through the power of God. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and because of this I know that this church, The LDS Church, is the Lord's true church on the earth today. I didn't come to this knowledge all at once. It was a process. The same process that all of Heavenly Fathers children on the earth need to go through in order to come to know him and prepare to return to live in his presence someday. That is through personal prayer and scripture study. I know that when we read the Book of Mormon and do as Moroni directs and "ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if [the Book of Mormon is] not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost" (Moroni 10:4). I know this scripture is true because I have tested it and it worked! I read the Book of Mormon and I asked my Father in the name of Christ if it is true. I can testify that at that time I did indeed recieve a personal answer from my Father in Heaven that the Book of Mormon is true and that in effect the Church of Jesus Christ is the only true and living church on the earth today. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I love to serve others and one of the ways that I have been able to serve others is through a group of young men organized by the LDS church. Through this group (young men's) I have participated in service projects such as cleaning up trash in the community, helping collect and distribute food to different charity organizations, help individuals with their personal home care such as shoveling snow, mowing lawns, washing cars, etc. I also attended seminary throughout highschool where I was able to learn of Christ on days other than Sunday. Once a week I am able to attend sacrament meeting where I was able, as a 16 year old priest in the Aaronic priesthood, to bless the sacrament for the administration to a congregation of around 300 church members. These are only some of the ways the ways that I have been able to live my faith. Now that I am a missionary for the Church I have even more opportunities to serve others and bring them to Christ. Every day I have the opportunity to meet the people of Taiwan. On the street an in thier homes. My special calling is to testify of Chirst and be his representative in word thought and deed. It is truly the most amazing experience to learn of Christ and take his image in my countenance through this great work. It is not always easy but it is always worth it to represent the Savior. My Savior.

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Adam Jacobson
Baptism has two purposes. The first is so that we can follow the example of Jesus Christ in following the commandment of God to be baptized. The second is so that our past mistakes and sins can be washed away and we can become clean through the Atonement of Christ. When we are baptized we make a covenant with the Lord that we will follow his commandments. It is the first covenant we make in order to prepare us to return live with our Father in Heaven one day. When a person accepts this gospel the first step is to have a new start through baptism. This is why Mormons baptize their new members. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Adam Jacobson
Missionaries proselyte for one reason and one reason only and that is to bring souls unto Christ. They don't do it to for money, fame, fun, or recognition. This is a volunteer self paid service that missionaries of the Mormon faith do because they know that Jesus is the Christ and that this is his true church restored in these the latter days. They do it because they have recieved blessings in thier life from this gosple and knowledge and they want to share these blessings with others. They do it because they know that God is our Father in Heaven and that we are all brothers and sisters. They do it "that perhaps they might bring [these thier brothers and sisters] to know of the plan of redemption" (Alma 17:16). This is a service of LOVE. Show more Show less
