Hi I'm Melanie

I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah I am a Mom and Grandma I am a Mormon

About Me

I am married, have 3 beautiful children 1 Grandson and 2 Grandchildren on the way. I love Sports, Music, Word Games, Gardening, My Family and Jesus Christ. I work in Human Resources.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because as I entered my teens, I began to wonder what the purpose of life was and I began to prayer to God I became very interested in learning what the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was about and so many of my questions about life began to be answered and the peace and happiness I felt when I learned of Jesus and the teachings of the LDS Church just seemed to increase. I have had so many times in my life that I know without this gospel I would not have been able to handle. I know that the Gospel that Jesus taught during his ministry here on earth is the same gospel and teaching taught today in the LDS church. I know just as the Bible teaches about Prophets of old and Jesus's life on earth, that God has not left us on our own now. I know that God has given us a living Prophet today and has Christ's Gospel is again on this earth. I know that along with the Bible there is another testament of Christ on earth today and it is the Book of Mormon. I know this book to be true and teaches us of Christ visit to the America's. I have a testimony of the atonement, as Christ took upon himself all the sins of the world and because of that sacrifice I can be forgiven of my sins. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt the Joseph Smith restored the Gospel of Christ to this earth and I know the Peace in my life is because of this Gospel. I love my Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost and can never deny what I know to be true

How I live my faith

I currently serve with other members of our Church in planning a monthly event, dinners, activities for the Ladies. I also serve in helping to make sure the Ladies of our Church are visited at least once during every month in their homes to visit with them serve them and to fellowship them. We try very hard to make the visit a home visit and if not we at least try to call them and make sure all is well with them. I also have 2 sweet Ladies that visit me monthly and the 30 or so minutes spent visiting are some of the most choice moments I have each month I have developed so many lifetime friendships this way and it helps me to know I am loved and never will be alone no matter what may come my way in life. I have also worked with the young children in our Church teaching them Music and teaching them of Jesus Christ.

How does the Church finance its operations?

Melanie
Through voluntary contributions of tithes. All members are asked to pay 10% of their increase. This is a commandment of God but is a choice of all members but is not forced. So many members have their own testimony's of the blessing they receive from paying their tithes. Each is individual and not all experience the same blessing. God is very aware of each need of every one of his children and he blesses each of us in ways that meant for only us. Show more Show less
