Hi I'm Breanna Durfee

I am a student at BYU. I love to make music, I love my family, and I love the gospel of Jesus Christ! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to make music! I started playing piano when I was five years old, and started singing in choirs when I was seven. My whole family is involved with music, and we often play duets together or accompany each other on our various instruments. I love to read! When I was little my mom had to make rules that we had to do all of our chores and music practicing before we read, otherwise we would have just read all day, every day. I love to learn and serve! I attend Brigham Young University. I love to learn new things and make connections between different subjects. I served my mission in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that Heavenly Father loves me and knows me perfectly because he listens to and answers my prayers. He created a plan so that I can return to His presence to live with Him after this life. This is possible through Christ's Atonement--when He suffered for the sins of each of us in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross. The Atonement allows me to change and repent of the things I've done wrong. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and that Joseph Smith, a prophet of God, translated it through the priesthood, the power of God. I am a Mormon because Heavenly Father has let me know through personal revelation that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is His true church. I am a Mormon because living the gospel helps me to be happy and to live a fulfilled life.

How I live my faith

I live the gospel by praying to my Heavenly Father and studying the scriptures daily. I strive to live my faith daily by choosing to respect my body by dressing modestly, choosing to use clean language, and choosing to keep the commandments. I attend church each Sunday. I love to serve, to teach others, and to help them improve their lives and come to Christ!

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Breanna Durfee
Families are the center of the Plan of Happiness. Each person is a spirit son or daughter of Heavenly Father, and He wants us to return to live with Him. He sent us to earth in family units so that we could grow and learn to be like Him. Families can be together forever as they are sealed with priesthood power in temples, and as they strive to keep the commandments and their covenants. Show more Show less
