Hi I'm Jordan Olsen

I grew up in Tennessee. I play Football and Basketball. I am currently serving a full-time mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 20 years old, serving my mission in Sao Paulo Brasil. Before my mission I lived in Johnson City, Tennessee. I enjoy playing football and basketball. In high school I was on the Basketball team for a season, the Track team for a couple seasons, and then I decided to just focus on Football, because it was my favorite out of the 3. I played Wide Receiver, Defensive Back, and also special teams. I enjoy doing all kinds of things outdoors, such as hiking, camping, riding dirt bikes/atvs, snowboarding, and just being out in nature. When I get home from my mission I plan to go to college, get married and start my eternal family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of The Church. I have chosen to continue to follow its teachings and the Gospel of Jesus Christ because I have had a confirmation from the Spirit that these things are true and because of how happy it has made me and how much it has blessed my life. I know that Heavenly Father restored his true Gospel through Joseph Smith so that we, his children in the latter days, could receive a knowledge of God's plan for us. I know that He continues to give us modern day Prophets so that we can continue to receive his guidance and revelation. I know that Jesus Christ suffered for our sins and died that we might live again with our Father in Heaven. I know that he was Resurrected so that one day we can be too, so that we can once again receive our physical bodies after we have passed away from this world. I know that through him and his atoning sacrifice we can be forgiven of all of our sins and become clean in the sight of God. I know that if we keep his commandments and do our best to follow his example that he will make up for the places that we fall short. I know that if we take advantage of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and repent of our sins that we can be forgiven and we will feel the Spirit so strongly in our lives. I know that the Book of Mormon is True and that it is the word of Ancient Prophets of God. I know that if we read it and follow the challenge and promise given in the Introduction and in Moroni Chapter 10 that we will receive an understanding and a knowledge of its truth. I know that when we keep the commandments of God and do our best to follow the example of His Son, Jesus Christ we will receive unimaginable blessings, some that we will not even notice at that present time. We all have trials and hard times in our lives, but if we allow the Atonement to work in our lives we can overcome anything. If we do our best and endure to the end we will receive everlasting joy and happiness through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I am currently living my faith by serving a mission. I decided to go on a mission to share the joy and knowledge that I have with the people of the world because I know that the gospel can bless their lives just as much as it has blessed mine. Before my mission, I loved working on service projects with the church or in the community. I also enjoyed visiting members of the ward and helping them in any way that I could. After I graduated from the young men's program of the church I participated as a leader and teacher in the young mens and in the scouting program. I also was a substitute for the primary. I really enjoyed that calling, it was so fun to hear the testimonies and thoughts of the little children. It really helps you humble yourself and focus on others. I also live my faith by trying to be the best example that I can be.
