Hi I'm Brooke

I love muffins and cereal. I'm a piano performance major. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the second to youngest child in a family of 8 kids. I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I love sports, of which my favorite is soccer. In my free time I love to play games, watch movies, and be outside. I love the outdoors, mountains, and rain. My greatest passion in life is music. I play the piano and flute as well as sing. I have completed one year of college as a piano performance major and hope to be able to open a piano teaching studio in the future. I am currently serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and it is the best decision I ever made.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up being surrounded by people of my faith. I have been taught since I was very young that I am a child a loving Heavenly Father who loves me, that Jesus Christ is our Savior and came to this earth and suffered and died for my sins, pains, and trials so that I could return to live with my Heavenly Father in heaven again. Everything the church teaches helps its members gain this perspective and strive to reach that eternal goal. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church and I choose to live its principles and standards because it makes me happy and gives me hope of things even better than the happiest moments on this earth. I can be with my family, whom I love, forever through promises that can be made in our temples. I know that through the sacrifice and atonement of Jesus Christ I can be forgiven of any wrongs I do or comforted in times of struggle, pain, or sadness. This gospel makes me happy and motivates me to always live each day better than the last. It gives me a goal to work for and that goal is eternal life in heaven with people who love me. Through the gospel I know who I am, why I am here on earth, and where I will go when I die. I am a child of god, who loves me. I am here on this earth to grow and learn from the experiences in my life so I can someday become like my Heavenly Father. While I am growing and learning I also have the opportunity to help others along the path. I love the gospel! I love the light and joy that it brings into my life! Nothing could bring me more joy.

How I live my faith

I love being able to serve others in the community. I have had many opportunities to serve others through my musical talents. I helped direct some children's musicals for a couple summers and have played the piano and sang for various community gatherings throughout the years. I had the opportunity while at college to be a member of my ward's service committee. We were able to meet often to discuss individuals in our area that we could help and serve. It was great to know that I was able to help bring a smile to someone's face or to lighten the load of life that they had. One of my favorite things that I had the opportunity to do in my teenage years was go to my community's care and rehabilitation center to visit the elderly people there and share my talents and time with them. The people there have such sweet spirits and help me realize that we are all brothers and sisters in this life going through the same kind of trials and struggles. We can all help each other make it through these trials by serving one another. Now I am serving a mission and get to spend all of my time serving others and sharing the message of Jesus Christ. It is the best feeling to be spending all of my time thinking of others and how I can help them. Nothing could have brought me closer to my Savior as this has.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Family is an organization established by our Heavenly Father. We are all part of a bigger, eternal family and are children of God, brothers and sisters in spirit. On this earth we are also placed in families. God put us in families so we can learn and grow in those relationships in a loving atmosphere. Everyone has different family situations and some of not the best, but the gospel of Jesus Christ can help any family, no matter what the struggle, grow closer. I love my family and I can see why God would want to us to have families so we can have people to support us and love us through some of the hard times in life. We believe that families can be together forever as we make covenants, or promises, with God in his holy temples. God wants us to do all we can to strengthen our relationships with our families.
