Hi I'm Amanda

I love to teach. When my first child was born, I decided to stay home and raise my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of seven children. I love seeing them learn and grow. I also love to run, read good books, travel, and visit with friends. History fascinates me. I dabble at writing. I teach preschool. Any time I spend with my husband and children is precious.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church. Everyone, at some point, must find their faith, and it must be their own. I began to pray at a young age and found answers to my prayers. As I grew older, I continued to try to keep the commandments. I noticed how wonderful I felt as I and my family made good choices. When I did wrong, I could tell I was not happy. I kept trying and found great faith, hope and comfort as I lived more like the Savior. I am still striving to live a more Christ-like life. I know God lives and that He loves me. I know that as we "do His will," as Jesus asked us to do, we do know where the truth is. Life is not easy, but with God and His Gospel, there is great meaning to our lives, support in our struggles, and happiness now and forever!

How I live my faith

I volunteer in my children's elementary schools. I am a Cub Scout assistant den leader. I teach the youth in Sunday School. I believe prayer and studying the scriptures to be vital to our relationship with God. I try to be consistent in this so that my faith in God will be strong. I try to serve my family, friends and neighbors when I can.

What is the priesthood?

Amanda
The priesthood is given to men, young and old. And it is the authority to serve and bless and help others in God's name. Special ordinances (such as baptism) are performed by someone who holds the priesthood. As the Savior Himself and His disciples served and blessed others, so those who hold the priesthood voluntarily serve and bless others. This service is asked of male members of the Church, but all the blessings of the Priesthood are given to anyone who is worthily trying to live righteously, men and women. And women have many, many opportunities to serve the Lord, exercise their faith, and bless others. Show more Show less
